Question about Acer TravelMate 2300 Notebook
I seem to have the same problem with my Travelmate as you and I am very interested how you opened the case/ cover of your Travelmate. I also noticed the solution posted by Pedroc and his approach to solve it sounds quite interesting to me, so want to give it a try. As some of you described, I also realized that the area near the power supply and cooler seems to be the core of the problem and at the same time quite sensible to pressure or slight force.
My main questions to you are:
Which parts of the case or cover did you dismantle?
How did you do it?
Are there also some screws on the keyboard side or only at the back and side in order to get rid of the back cover/case?
Did your case/ cover stick close to the printer plug/ middle area, are the any more screws?
Is it necessary to dismantle the monitor to reach the cooler/ van?
Currently I have problems to get the cover at the back removed. The cover seems to stick in the middle of the case or especially close to the area of the big printer plugs at the back. I thought I removed all screws but could not get rid of case.
I am very thankful for any help you can provide and looking forward to hearing from you.
Hello , I hope this is not to late
First of all let me update you about my problem and where I reach with it >> sadly the laptop is no more is working and I have it in my store as open parts and pieces !!
Maybe you ask why? well ,, because I discover that the problem is the main board near from the supply ( there is sort of hidden line and wire inside the board these line will cut or damage because of heat and there is no way to connect them again ! )
Regarding your question on how to open the case >>
1- Open and remove everything from laptop like battery cd drive memory etc .
2- You will notes that there is small arrow at the back near from the screw hole open all of the ,, some of them large some are small in size .
3- On the front near from the screen above the keyboard there is a pies you have to remove it by very small flat screw then you will find other 2 small screw underneath it maybe that’s why you can’t remove the cover at back .
4- If I am not mistaken you have to remove the keyboard first then you will find anther screws also
That’s what I remember ,, I wish you good luck
