Question about Cameras
Most places will want $150-200 for this repair, all they do is charge you more than Nikon would charge you directly to do the repair for you, and they send it to Nikon and pay them to do it.
We are an AFFORDABLE digital camera repair business (Google: darntoothysam), and if you need your lens replaced we can help. Most lens repairs are only $65-70 including return shipping of the camera!
Another option for you would be to look for a defective camera online and switch out the lens yourself. Just watch out for the flash capacitors (~ZAP!~) and don't damage the ribbon cables and you should be fine.
If we can help then please let us know, hope this information has helped you.
Good luck from Darntoothysam com
