Question about Evolis Dualys Thermal Card Printer
We are issuing cards with a Pebble 4 thought TCP/IP conection using a windows program. We are using YMCKO ribbons. We are printing color photo and black text. From time to time, the printer does not print the photo and prints just the text. The we go to the driver configuration and, spite of the ribbon is right, we set a different ribbon type and the set the YMCKO ribbon back again, and the printer prints again properly until next error. We have updated the firmware (we already had the last windows driver version) but the problem persist. Any Idea?
Sounds like a failed/failing ribbon sensor. Each color ribbon has an embedded RFID tag. The PC/driver requests the ribbon tag info from the printer, and sets the driver according to the reply (R3011-YMCKO, for example). The mono-chrome/black R2011 and R2211 ribbons don't have RFID tags. If the PC/driver requests the ribbon tag info, and gets a response of "none found", then the driver will be set for "K" ribbon.
This can also be a fault due to spotty communications with the PC - bad USB cord; USB port; printer logic board issues; etc. Try a different USB cord, port & a different PC to see if the problem will resolve. If not, then it seems the problem is with the printer itself.

First clean Rollers and print head . Check if you have increased luminosity and contrast too much in printer Graphic properties. If this doesn't solves your problem increase x offset little bit using Px;+ command in Dialog with printer

This is a very common problem within all ID Card Printers and might have multiple causes. Most common are sharp edges at the end of the card, or a high contrast/intensity image thats being printed.
Check the cards for sharp edges, if edges are very sharp and beveled up, discard the cards immediately as they can also damage your printhead.
Lower the quality and/or contrast within the printers divers/graphic menu.
