Re: Verizon tells me I need to reinstall my aspire 9500...
They must mean you need to reinstall windows on your computer. you can do it by using the cd's that came with your computer. By doing so you will loose all data on your computer so before doing it. make a backup of everything that is important on your computer.

The bootable XP cd you have will work - You need to first reinstall the Operating System(XP), then download and install drivers for the devices(Such as touchpad, wireless, etc.)
The device drivers are all available from Acer's support site; If the Network Card driver isn't installed after the windows XP installation, you will need to use a different computer to download the drivers, and transfer them to your laptop using some sort of removable media - USB Flash drive, portable hard drive, memory card, etc.
u have came cd with a laptop drvier & utility cd put in cd rom drive it will autorun there was option on sound click on it setup will run
if dont have cd then u can download & install from the by clicking on acer aspire 1640z
You need to use your Driver CD that came with your unit. I will actually auto run and easier for you to find the driver of your wireless card. If you don't have the CD, then go to the Support and download site of acer and locate your laptop model and download the driver.
