I recently changed the cartridges on my printer, the first photo i printed was perfect, after that the photos all had lines across them. I used some hp premium photo paper and as well as having lines across it the print was a little grainy and the tones and colour were over saturated. i've cleaned the print head several times and after several prints the lines are still there. please help me.

Re: my photo prints have lines across them?!
The glossy paper you are using (hp) is smearing the ink... there is now ink on the feed rollers and you need to get in there and clean it all up with alcohol...also run epson matt paper for a few prints to get the color to lay down ..good luck

Try running one or two ink cartridge cleaning cycles to help clear the air out of the ink nozzles. New cartridges aren't always perfect to begin with. After doing the cleaning try running a test print from your printer setup or installation properties window. If this print is good try printing another picture on a plain piece of paper rather than photo paper. If it prints OK then use your photo paper. I say this so you don't waste your photo paper. If you get lines in the test print, return the cartridge and see if the place you bought it from will exchange it for another one. If they will not exchange it try to get them to make the cartridge print correctly. You may have to bring your printer to them. This is the best advice I can give you, I hope it helps.
did you clean the communication ports , where the cartridges "talk" to the printer, the ports can get covered with paper dust and erronus signals can cause the printer to activate the magenta cartridge causing your problem. reomve the cartridges and Gently clean the comm ports with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol let dry then reinstall the ink cartridges.
Hi Have you tried cleaning the printer and doing a alignment for the inkjets? I believe under your printer properties you should have the option do to maintenance clean and alignment>when doing this it will use some ink but in order for the printer to function properly you sometimes have to do this. Hi hope this helps you!!
It is definite one cartridge is not running. You do one thing -
1. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Red. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
2. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Cyan. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
3. Write documents in MS-Word - select all - change the color to Yellow. Take print out. Check Printing is perfect or not.
I am sure when you changed the color to Cyan - it did not print Cyan or blank page you got. So you must replace the Cyan cartridge or may be ink is not coming out through the passage. And first you have to check whether you have removed the plastic tape from the head of t he cartridge.
