Question about Google Gmail

Gmail.com When I want to go into Google I get a message: Loading dawn.eric@gmail.com. But get only a blank screen with message at bottom RH corner saying: Loading standard view/load basic HTML (for slower connections). It will only let me load on the basic, therefore one problem in particular, I've lost a good number of my email addresses and have to load an address every time I send a message. I went into Control Panel, then Network Connections. It says: Internet Gateway: Unavailable - device disabled. LAN or High-Speed Connection: Connected. Can anyone help please Dawn Clarke

    I cannot send emails and when I try to reply to those comming in a message appear say the website is not available

- Dialup: The lowest speed of any Internet access and it uses your telephone line to connect meaning you can't use both. - Cable: If you are connected to a cable system for your TV reception, many cable companies offer internet service as an add-on but is characterized by the use of an additional box between your PC and the cable connection. - DSL: 'Digital Line Subscriber' this is a technique that also requires some electronics between your PC and the telephone line which then can serve two purposes; provide a faster connection and still leave your telephone operable. - Satellite: Two types are currently in service; one uses your satellite dish to receive information to pass on to your PC, giving you very fast downloads from the Internet but uses your phone line to send information to your email and also the commands you issue that require that your PC send instructions. The second type, the most costly and fastest of all for home use, requires a transmitter located at your location that provides both downloads and uploads (stuff you are sending somewhere) via a radio signal that is sent to the satellite and then transferred back down to ground stations.
There are other connections available at much higher cost primarily for businesses, the most common of which is the T1 line that exceeds the speeds of the others by many times and uses a dedicated line reserved for the users purposes.
I don't know what version of Windows you are using but on the Control Panel, the 'Network Setup Wizard' is useful for some types of connections, others can be set up via 'Network Connections' or 'Internet Options.'
Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) should have a phone number to help you use the service. Your ISP might be AOL, Netzero, etc. and they may have a semiautomatic setup program to help you to start.
It is apparent that you do have some kind of service but if it is either not set up correctly or simply too slow to avoid 'time outs,' you may have problems not easily solved.
I use a 'real time' conncection speed monitor called 'NetStat Live' to watch the quality of my lousy dialup connection so I can dis- and re-connect if I get a particularly slow connection. You can download it free from:

It is not completely free of glitches but works well enough and tells me what I need to know.
Don't worry, all this stuff will be 'old hat' after you have dealt with it once or twice :-)

Try these steps:
  • log into your gmail account
  • click on the icon (or your profile photo) in the opper RH corner and click on the "account" link
  • Under the "personal info" tab, click on "edit profile"
  • Click on the "edit" link under contact info to change phone number
  • As you scroll down, you'll see a box that says "details from Google Contacts". Click on the "edit" link to edit your name

I need to recover all my gmail account


Gmail accounts are permanently attached to the Google account they were originally created with.

Therefore, if you delete your Gmail account, you can always reinstate it at a later time and keep the same Gmail ID.

If it's been a few weeks or less since you deleted your Gmail account, you may be able to recover your previous contacts and messages; however, after a few weeks, you'll likely only be able to reinstate your Gmail ID.

Sign in to the Google account previously associated with the Gmail address.
Click on your name in the upper right corner of the Google page and click on "Account Settings." Scroll down to the "Try Something New" section and click on "Gmail."


Type your name and create a password. Your Gmail ID is prepopulated in the field it cannot be changed.

Choose a security question and enter your birthday. Fill out the CAPTCHA word code.

Click on "I accept.
Create my account" to reinstate your Gmail address.

If another account comes up, sign out of it by clicking the avatar in the upper-right then clicking "Sign out."

If you then still can't get in, click the "Can't access your account?" link on the sign-in page.

You may be prevented from accessing your Gmail account in the Google Chrome browser for a number of reasons.

Although both programs are Google products, there may be a firewall, browser or software conflict causing the Gmail page not to load.

Going through a few basic troubleshooting steps can usually clear up the matter and get you back into your Gmail account.

Click the "Wrench" icon at the top-right corner of the browser window and select "Options" from the menu.

Go to the "Under the Hood" section.
Click the "Clear Browsing Data" button near the top of the options page.

A popup window appears.
Check the boxes for "Empty the Cache" and "Delete Cookies and Other Site and Plug-in Data."

Change the "Obliterate the Following Items From" to "The Beginning of Time" option, then click the "Clear Browsing Data" button.

Clearing out the browser's stored files often helps to make websites load properly and perform better.

Check your firewall settings.
Click the "Start" button and type "Firewall" into the search box.

Click "Windows Firewall." In the application, click the "Allow a Program or Feature Through Windows Firewall" from the left column.

Check the box for "Chrome.exe" from the program list.

I can't send email from my gmail


You can use Gmail's secure connection settings if you need to send sensitive information via email.
This provides some measure of protection against hackers and hijackers who may try to intercept your data as it travels from your browser to the Internet.
To send a secure email on Gmail, modify your account's settings so that you're using Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure HTTPS rather than unsecured HTTP.

Sign in to your Gmail account.
Click the "Gear" icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Choose "Mail Settings" from the drop-down menu.

Click "Always Use HTTPS."
Find this option in the "Browser connection" section of the General tab.

Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page.
Log out of and then back in to your Gmail account.
The URL in the address bar of your browser should read "HTTPS:" rather than "HTTP."

Click "Compose Mail" and type your email message.
When finished, click "Send" to send a secure email on Gmail.

I have two accounts


To sign into two accounts simultaneously, first sign into one of your accounts at Gmail. Once you are signed in, click on your account name near the top right corner of the screen. A box will pop up with the option 'Add account' in the left bottom corner. Click it. Gmail will open a new login window/tab for you to sign into a second Gmail account. Once you are signed in, you can access either Gmail accounts via your account name.

Cannot change my email address


Google allows you to sign in via one account at a time. So if you have 2 or more Gmail accounts, you need to sign OUT from one before signing IN to the other.

To sign OUT from Gmail, go to the upper right corner of the page, click on the silhouette/photo, then click "Sign out". See also:

After you have signed OUT from one Gmail account, you can then sign IN for the other account.

How to stop g-mail from fetching my e-mail?


If you have Gmail set up to fetch messages from another account, you will need to revise that setting.

To access your Gmail settings, go to your Gmail web page, click on the "options" icon (upper right corner of page), then select "Mail settings". Then on the "Account settings" page, select "Accounts and Import", then scroll down to "Check mail using POP3".

You should see a list of the other accounts from which Gmail is currently fetching messages. To stop message retrieval from another account, click on "delete". To modify message retrieval from an account click on "edit".

I need to create an email address


Follow this steps.
1.type this into your address bar http://gmail.com
2.click the "create account" button.
3.fill in all the information and it should be no blank area to leave behind. because it is for web account security.
Note! for the password you "Must have at least 8 characters"
4.then click "I accept.Create my account".
5.click drop down menu if you want to choose your "country"
5.1.for verification. you can select text messages.
6.enter your "Mobile phone number" so that the host will send you a verification letters and numbers to verify your account.
7.click "Send verification code to my mobile phone" button below.
8.check your mobile phone if you receive a message from your host.
9.input your verification code inside the text box.
10.click "verify"button.
11.account is activated. then your done! you can now proceed to your gmail mail services area.
