Question about Phones
I had the same problem and from what I did, the screen is pressing against itself and is holding the position on the phone. I took a piece of tape and pressed it to the screen to loosen it. This is only a temporary fix and I will need to get a new phone today. This is a defect in older models (mine is from august) so they should replace it for free if you are stil under the one year warranty.

As the screen is pressure controlled, there may be a leak on the it.
Gently heat the screen with the heat from a light bulb with low heat from it to get any moisture out of the screen.

Had the same problem too. I read this, tried the other solutions and they didn't work. Then I inspected the edge all the way around very closely because I was trying to figure out how to remove the touchscreen. Turned out, the last time I dropped it, the bottom edge separated ever so slightly. I pinched the bottom front and back sides and it snapped into place and the touchscreen works again. Hope this helps. This was stressful because I thought I had lost all my phone numbers and notes. Kept everything else on the SD card.
