If the printer is new see for any kind of piece of paper in between the gears if that is blocking the paper to move forward.this kind of problem occurs many times when you look in to the printer it looks very much clean but the small piece of torn paper creates this problem.
and if the printer is old please get it serviced as the parts are not able to move frequently as they should be in the printer servicing the printer is opened and the steel rods and the gears are cleaned and the small amount of greese material is applied on them to make them move fluently.it will be proper after servicing.

and finally also check the wire on the back of the printer if they are connected loose .as you give the printout the printer pick up the paper and then stops in between and shows paper jam due to loose wires.just hold the wires firmly with your hand and then give the printout and then see it may work.

If it jams all the time, then there is a problem with the mechanic paper feed gears.

If it is an occasional paper jam, just remove the paper and restart the printer.

Give me more details for more troubleshooting.

First ensure there is no foreign object into the printer.
Shake the printer a bit , inspect it internally, and turn it upside down to remove eventual small foreign objects.

Try also adjusting the two tabs at the side of the paper. Ensure that they are close to the paper.

Try pushing and moving with your finger the traction wheels. If one of the paper traction wheels does not have enough grip, you tipically get paper jamming on one side.

Someone uses an old trick to increase wheel grip. You crop a piece of thin abrasive paper of an A4 size, and pass it into the printer by printing a blank page. If you decide to use this method, ensure you print a blank page, and that the abrasive paper is thin enough, or you will damage your printer.

I personally do not use the trick above, there is always risk to jam the abrasive paper inside and release dust that can clog the printheads.

To be fixed properly the printer should be taken apart , to fix the grip problem on the traction wheel, or to fix the problem in general.

When printing documents no matter how few or how many pages, paper gets stuck in the middle of printing.

Try using regular paper on unit as specified by Samsung. If that does not resolve the issue then the hassle lies with the paper feed mechanism. Often a good cleaning of all the rollers in the path can take care of the issue.

Printer says paper jam, But there is no paper jam.

I will ask where does the sheet of paper lie inside the printer when it jams or is there no sheet of paper to be seen. Next question does the printer actualy pick up a sheet of paper. if not may be worn\ missing grey rollers, which can be seen by removing paper tray and looking in and up. There are 3 main sensors usually one at the paper pickup from tray, next one half way through( under a plate which is under the toner cartridge) and the last one is on the fuser at the rear, although the last one normally gives the alarm message " jam in fuser area" check these sensors out for sticking or not free.

My HP Laser Jet 4730 is not feeding back through the Duplexer causing paper Jam in side top right panel.

There is a known issue with this series and what happens is that the paper exit flag sags from the heat of the fuser and interferes with the paper path. One small $10 dollar part but you have to take a lot of parts out to get to it. You can see this flag if you open the front drawer where you remove duplex jams, it is right behind the duplexer.

Cartrige won't move

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Cup of distilled water
  • Clean wash cloth
    Fixing The Printer Cartridge
  1. Shut down the HP 6480 by pressing the "On/Off" button on the right side of the control panel. Some paper jams will clear themselves just by turning the printer off and starting it again. Wait a few minutes after the printer has shut down and then turn it on again.
  2. Remove the paper feed tray. If the printer does not clear the paper jam by itself, shut off the device again. Be sure to pull the tray out gently to avoid damaging the device.
  3. Lift up the automatic document feeder. The feeder makes up the top half of printer, and it can be opened like the hood of a car. Lift the sides of it slowly. This exposes the printer mechanism and ink cartridges. Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer mechanism with both hands. Pull it gently to ensure you don't damage any components.

  4. After removing the paper, clean off the cylindrical, silver printer roller. Dampen a clean cloth with distilled water, and gently wipe any dirt, ink or paper off the roller. Rotate it when you're done cleaning one side, and continue rotating and cleaning until the roller is clean on all sides.
  5. Close the automatic printer feeder. After removing all paper, close the top printer feeder and shake it to ensure it's fastened. Re-attach the printer tray by lining it up with the arrow markers on both sides of the printer.
  6. Put one sheet of paper into the printer tray, and reset the HP 6480 by pressing and holding the "On/Off" button for 15 seconds. The printer should automatically restart and return to factory settings. It will run diagnostics and the printer cartridges should begin moving again as they print a test sheet.

Printer tried to take half of the stack of paper and jammed up. Can't get the paper unstuck.

Unlatch and pull out the paper tray. Try pulling out the sheets in the middle of the "half stack" first. You should have less friction there. While you have the paper tray out, examine the rectangular cork paper separator strip on the right-hand side of the back corner. If it's worn or missing, that would explain how the jam got started.

Keeps saying paper jam and paper goes half way through

hi

1. 1 Switch off the printer and disconnect the powersupply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands ormetal tools inside the chassis. 2. Step 2 Pin down the exact location of the jam. Thethree hot spots for a jam are the paper tray, anywhere between the feed trayand the print carriage, or between the print carriage and the output tray. 3. Step 3 Take off the front paper tray if the sheet gotstuck while it was still in the front area of the printer. If the sheet jammedhere, you should be able to see most of the paper. 4. Step 4 Pull on the sheet with both hands and steadypressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeperin the machine. 5. Step 5 Open the back panel to reach paper jammedbetween the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer.Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine. 6. Step 6 Use the carriage access door to reach a jamfurther inside the all-in-one printer. You may need to move the print carriageout of your way to clear the jam. 7. Step 7 Return any access panels to their closed andlocked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

Printer will not print...it jammed ......the paper jammed in the machine..and I pulled it out....

1. Inspect the paper trays to make sure they are not overloaded. To determine if this is the problem, do a test print with only one piece of paper loaded in the paper tray. (If this turns out to be the problem, keep the paper tray half-full in the future.)
2. Check that the type of paper being used falls within the printer manufacturer's recommendations. For example, paper designed for ink-jet printers doesn't necessarily work well in laser printers. High-quality, bonded paper will cause paper jams in some printers; look for bonded paper that is "laser and ink-jet compatible."
3. If someone has recently printed labels on this printer, check to see if a label has come unglued from a sheet and become stuck inside the printer.
4. Check the gears and rollers for stuck shreds of torn paper from previous jams. Turn off the printer before you attempt to remove the bits of paper.f you have a laser printermag-glass_10x10.gif, inspect the printer's paper rollers. They should be smooth but not shiny. Rollers that are cracked or glazed are a frequent cause of paper jams and should be replaced by a technician.
5. if you have a laser printer, try cleaning the printer's paper rollers with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol (available atelectronics shops or drugstore.Try changing the toner or ink cartridge.

  • Try changing the toner or ink cartridge.
  • If you hear a clinking sound during printing, your printer probably has a broken gear and needs to be serviced by a technician.
