Try installing the latest audio driver.
The same model ThinkPadcan have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless youknow exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download allthe drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver.
When you download thedrivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a recordof which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files arelocated on your hard drive.
Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEBsite - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers foryour model computer, Use this link: -
You can download thevarious drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, theywill then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install thevarious drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).
You should be able to use the ADI driver-only download on newer (x86) versions of Windows; although it indicates 98SE/2000/XP, version 5.12.01.5410 worked fine on my Windows 7 Professional install.
IBM/Lenovo lists drivers under the system model number, rather than by component, but you can search the IBM and/or Lenovo site for the FRU number (13R8926, in this case) to find the systems that it goes with, and then pick one of those systems to find the relevant downloads.
hi, Actually downgrading from vistas to Xp is not supported these days in the new laptops. 1. If you dont have driver setup for XP. You can try to get the driver setup for other Lenovo models models with a Hit and Trial method. 2. Alternatively you try to find out the video card of the laptop..Nowadays laps are mostly with Nvidia. Nvidia gives driver for all Os. so try to download from the Nvidia Site. it also has a automatic video card detetection software. run it to get the exact drive. 3. For audio ..it might be a High definition audio ... so download the Universal audio architecture from the URL ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp33501-34000/sp33867.exe or try google for UAA of lenovo. then try to download a sound driver like conexant high defintion audio driver. 4. while installing the sound driver it might show u that "media for the device not found" in that case open device manager and install the driver from device manager.
