Make shure the battery is the same one you have taken out, and it has a good length of time stamped on it all newer batteries have a date that says good through ???? meaning the year

Help for gateway motherboard power connections, ibm, manual

The mother board will have numbers on the up side. There you should be able to see the mother board manufacturer, model, and version.
Just because the information is on the case does not mean it is the right one, if som,e one changed it.

No processor bios update

Sounds like you need to flash the BIOS (UPDATE the BIOS).

Do you know how to do this? The way I do it is by setting up a USB key as a boot device and have the FLASH utility on there....

HERE IS A LINK
which contains files to create the FLASH utility either on:

FLOPPY
CD (via ISO IMAGE)

... as well as some guides on what to do and other helpful stuff.

Its worth noting that if you have made any changes to BIOS, they will be restored to the 'factory' settings when you FLASH in the updated BIOS.

This should work, let me know if it doesn't.

Bios update

Go to the IBM website. Under the support section find your board. All bios updates should be available for download. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

No sound after formate without mother board disc

When you start the machine, go to the BIOS and check if the onboard sound is enabled. Just in case...
If that is not the answer:
There is a FCC ID printed somewhere in the board. Google it, along with the word "driver". If you do not find anything there, try driverguide.com, wich usually saves my hide when I have such problems.
Good luck.

IBM Mainboard MS6188 on Net Vista IBM PC Systemes ??

Your machine is a Netvista 6280 or similar. Several models used that MSI motherboard. Go to http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4RZ2LT

IBM's latest BIOS and all other 6280 drivers are listed.

The MS6188 motherboard uses an Intel 810 chipset, you should not have any drive size problems, at least up to 30 GB, that could not be overcome by partioning the drive.

Good luck.
