Question about Westinghouse Microwave Ovens
There's 2 little buttons on the oven - the left hand one is pushed in and can't get it out. The real estate's solution is to set the time and the oven will work!! [easy if you know how to set the time] I have tried pushing 'all 2' buttons and fiddled, but can't set the time and so oven still doesn't work. Grill works fine. Please, any idea's would be great. Can't find manual online anywhere.

Is it possible that some spray cleaner accidentally got into the controls?
Direct spraying of cleaners on the keypad and steam from the cooktop can damage the controls.
I always recommend that users spray the cleaner on a soft cloth (not on the keypad itself) then wipe the control panel off.
Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.

Test the high voltage capacitor,
the rectifier diode.or the magnetron.
The diode and capacitors can br tested. The capacitor must be allowed discharge before testing, or you risk to get electrocuted, even if power is off. Capacitors can get discharged by shorting their two contacts.
Replace the magnetron if the checks and all of the high voltage component tests are good, but the unit still does not heat.
All locations, and description of this parts can be located using the diagram here: Counter top.
Parts must be tested to find out what is wrong.
Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.
