Sounds like a problem with the print driver. Delete the printer and then download the most current driver for your operating system directly from Lexmark. ( this was posted under the generic Lexmark page). If this is not a Lexmark printer, then choose the appropriate link for the manufacture.

Here is a list of possible driver locations:

without knowing the make and model, it is impossible to give you the correct location to download your driver, however, most manufactures have a download drivers page.

examples would be:

For Lexmark http://support.lexmark.com/perl/support/support.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0
For Dell http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~ck=gp
For HP http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html?pageDisplay=drivers
For Samsung http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDownMain.do
For Brother http://www.brother-usa.com/downloads/
For Epson http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes
For Canon http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDSupportDropDownAct

Hopefully this helped.

Thanks

Have just installed Windows 7 Ultimate and downloaded/installed the driver for Panasonic DP-C322. After successfully installing, I printed a test page that consisted of 100's of pages, some blank and...

The "test" output should have been one page.

If the printer properly interpreted the data-stream that it received, it _would_ have generated just that one page. However, if the printer is not "interpreting" the data-stream, but instead is printing it, character-for-character, then you could have gotten the mountain of output that you got.

Turn the printer off. Turn the printer on. Try again to print your own, small, "test" page.

I cannot print or scan with the hp1315. Upon start-up I always have a test page printed. Any solution to these?

The "test" page is in fact a printhead calibration procedure. You have to put it on the scanner and press the scan button. This is what is shown on the page, if you read it. After successful calibration you will be able to print.

Error1102 occurs after new ink cartridges are installed

To clean the NVRAM, please follow the steps given below:

1. Press the "Up-Arrow" button and "Menu" Buttons Simultaneously.
2. Press the "Down Arrow" button until the LCD displays "Clean NVRAM."
3. Press "Select." The LCD should display “Success” or “Failed.”
If it is successful, please try this printer self-test by following the steps given below:

1. Press the "Menu" button.
2. Press the down arrow button 9 times until the screen displays "Print Test Page."
3. Press the "Select" button to begin printing the self-test.
You should see text followed by a thick 1-inch black bar. Under this bar, should be a process gray bar about a 1/2-inch thick. Below this line should be a set of railroad like bars of cyan, magenta, and yellow.

Should this test fail, try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with only the color cartridge installed. (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed.) If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let us know.

If the self-test prints, but has lines or smudges or other print quality issues, please let us know. This includes any print quality issues, we need to know if the problems you have with your black or color are based in the printer, or communications with your computer, or the computer's software.

try to do this set of instruction & solution:

  1. Go to Start | Control Panel | Printers And Other Hardware | Printers And Faxes. Double-click the icon for your printer to open the Documents window and clear any pending print jobs by selecting Cancel All Documents from the Printer drop-down menu
  2. Try printing a test page from the printer, not from Windows XP. Most printers have a built-in test function that's activated by holding down one or more buttons while the printer is starting up. Check your printer's user manual for instructions. If this page prints successfully, you know the problem is either with your connection or with the software in your computer.
  3. Check your printer's USB or parallel connection.
  4. Try printing something simple from Windows' Notepad. To open Notepad, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | Notepad, type a few lines of text in a document, and try printing it. If it successfully prints, the problem is with the software program you originally tried to print from.
  5. Try printing using Windows XP's generic printer driver. Open and run the Add Printer Wizard. When you get to the Install Printer Software screen, select Generic under Manufacturer and Generic/Text Only under Printers (see Figure 2).
  6. Select No for Do You Want To Use This Printer As The Default Printer? (see Figure 3). Click Next.
  7. When prompted on the next screen, tell Windows XP to print a test page. If the page successfully prints, then you probably have a problem with your installed printer driver. Either update or reinstall the driver.
