Have you tried going to the site? It's a very informative site for my ZEN V, even though I still can't figure out how the LCD display went black and has never recovered. I hope this helps.

How To Install A Battery In A Creative Labs Zen Touch Mp3 Player

1) Using a small Philps screwdriver, remove the two screws from the top of the back case cover (near the head phone jack) and unscrew the two remaining screws at the bottom of the back case cover.

2) Carefully wedge a guitar pick, or a small Flat Head screwdriver from the side of the unit, in between the two housings in the middle, unclipping the case clips, using your fingers, carefully pry open the back case cover.

3) Disconnect the power cable by gently pulling on the cable, if needed use the Flat Head screwdriver or needle nose pliers to carefully pull the connector out.

4) Using your finger or the tip of the screwdriver, carefully remove the battery from the glue inside the case cover.

5) Plug in the new battery by pushing the connector into the socket; use the tip of the screw driver if needed. Make sure the battery fits within the guide brackets and does not get in the way of the screw holes. Snap the cover back with the rest of the device, and reinstall the four screws. Charge the new battery for a minimum of 3 hours before the first use.

My creative zen v pluse dosent turn on at all dosent charg and... GO HERE. download a service manual or here I've had mine for 10 months, and the battery is dead. I did pry the Zen apart. There's 3 plastic pieces that hold it together. Just wedge a common screwdriver on the lower front piece first. Then remove the upper piece around the viewing screen;

The little monitor is held into position using double face tape. Gently pry it away from the circuit board. DO NOT REMOVE THE RIBBON CABLE. Let it hang by the cable. Then remove the two screws holding the board to back piece. The battery is mounted on the back side with double face tape pry it off and use a soldering iron to remove it from the circuit board. One yr old, i let batt die, now does not seem to want to chg. after a bit the scn goes blank.
Following a tip on another forum, I picked up a Creative wall charger for the Zen Micro. Works just fine with my Zen V Plus and it was only $9.99 ($17 with tax and shipping) off the Creative web site. I like that it has a 5-foot cord. (That little USB cable that comes with the player is a pain.)
