Cradle and cable part numbers to charge a Symbol MC3090
I have two Symbol MC3090 barcode scanners. My boss has asked me to find and purchase the charger-cradle for him. When I enter MC3090 I get a lot of information on the MC3000. This is making it confusing for me to find the parts I need.
I've been around and around on the internet, and my head is so full of numbers I'm getting realy mixed up.

It sounds like the power is dropping along the 15 foot length of the cable. You could try connecting a power supply to the cradle and should not hear those beeps any more. The part number of the power supply is PWRS-14000-253R. All of this assumes you are using the STB4278 or CR0078-SC cradle to connect. If you have a CR0078-P cradle it needs a different power supply.
The most unlikely scenario is that all the bases are defective. If you power your PC off every night, you should purchase a power supply so the scanners can continuously charge. Another issue may be that you need new batteries (also unlikely if they stopped working at the same time). Also try swapping scanners and bases (one scanner from one base and place it with another base) make sure you firmly place the bottom of the scanner in the base to verify there is a good connection with the charging pins. You would need to configure the application which are you using to scan, there is usually one default length for the barcode preselected.
If you are using ScanWedge, download the CtlPanel application, start it goto Scanner settings, decoders, I2OF5 and length. Dont forget to make the settings persistend
look online there are learning barcodes out there you can scan, look for one with zero in front, if you are making the barcodes yourself than put a * at the beginning and end and then make barcode, it will capture everything in between,
Hi, I would be happy to assist you in resetting your LS4278, but it would be helpful to know how you are connected. The Set Defaults barcode will reset all of the scanner settings, but it will also cause you to lose the "pair" (communications) between the scanner and cradle. If you try scanning a barcode at this point you will receive a single beep followed by four error beeps. This just means the scanner is not talking to the cradle. Scan the barcode on top of the cradle. The scanner should give a high low high low series of beeps followed by a short low short high. The short low short high indicates the scanner is talking to the cradle again and you are ready to scan.
If you are connected through the USB port and scan a barcode and get one beep, but do not see data on your host try unplugging the black power supply cable from the cradle. Try scanning your barcode again and it should show up on the host.
Interleaved 2of5 symbologies is normally disabled from factory. what scanning software are you using? have you tried Datawedge to enable the scanner? Is a free download from symbol/motorola and it goes very well.
error code communication error the scanner is not communicating with the cradle. It is important that the synapse cable is plugged into the cradle before the cradle power suply is pluged into a outlet. also could be the scanner did not pair up with the cradle correctly try rescanning the barcode on the cradle.
