Question about HP LaserJet 2430dtn Printer
I'm having a problem with my HP 2430 jamming on every print job whether
it be one sent from my computer or just doing a config print right from
the control panel. The jams occur from both tray 1 and tray 2. When it
jams, the leading edge of the page is always stopped just before
reaching the transfer roller assembly. I've checked the paper path for
obstructions but found nothing. I also checked all the paper p/u
rollers for dirt, signs of wear, or damage but they all look fine. I'm
kind of leaning towards the registration roller assembly being the
problem. It seems that when the paper is going in from the MP tray, it
gets picked up fine. But once it enters the printer and right about
when the registration rollers are supposed to take over, there's almost
a "struggle" for the page to continue and then the paper jam message
pops up. So if anyone out there has any ideas or has any experience
with this problem, your help and input would be appreciated.
Try this, make a print from the by-pass tray, does it go OK or jam??
If it jams then there is a problem with the paper feed from the tray.
If it jams then
1-check the drum and see if there is an image on it( you can put a mark on the edge to see if it's rotating, thus eliminating the drum unit)
2-same for the reg roller
3-check for labels ar foreign objects
