Are these drives you have fitted yourself, or been added as after market drives?
If so you have run in to the odd way Toshiba set their optical drives as master or slave, although this is generally and IDE #1 error.
To fix this you need to solder pin 45 and 47 together.
47 is the key pin here, as it controls whether the drive is in SLAVE or MASTER mode.
grounded, the drive is in MASTER, open, it is in SLAVE.
pin 45 is simply a grounding pin.
So you'll need to open up the drive, turn it over, and put a small blob of solder on the two pins next to each other - 45 and 47.

If they are original drives or used to work then uninstall the drives and the IDE controllers in Device manager and reboot, letting windows redetect and install the hardware. Also try reinstalling the motherboard drivers available from Toshiba's support site.

not necessarily... if the game works on other computers... it isn't the game... make sure there's no dust... dirt... fingerprints... ect. on the disk... open the drive... get a can of air... use the straw... and blow it out... if it still doesn't work... then the drive might not support that game... and you'll need to upgrade it.

My laptop does not "read" m Optiarc DVD RW AD-5540A ATA . Code 19 Drivers may be missing or corrupted. Please help.

Try going to the device manager and uninstalling the dvd drive, reboot the laptop and windows will recognize the device and reload the frivers for it. It may even ask to go to windows update and search for a fresh driver, allow that and let windows finsh the installation. Reboot and try the device for function.

My Cd-RW works mechanically but it will not read or recognize my cds. Under the driver it had an error message saying that the system could not load the driver.

1. Click Start
2. Right-click My Computer
3. Select Manage
4. Select Device Manager
5. Locate and expand DVD/CD-ROM Drives
6. Right click on the device and select Uninstall

Navigate to your product manufacturer's site and download the latest driver to your desktop.

Restart your machine, let Windows rediscover the device and when prompted to install manually or automatically, select the manual option and use the driver you just downloaded to your desktop.

This should solve the problem. If not, the reader might have malfunctioned, which would explain the drive's ability to spin the disc but not read it.
