Question about Chainsaws

Power Tools Chain Saws igniton problems

I have a Husqvarna 61 serial no. 1611 110422. I have pulled the plug out and with the high tension wire connected, holding the plug against the cyl. head, turning the saw over with the recoil and there is no spark. I replaced the plug and still no spark.
The saw has good compression with the spark plug installed and there is no problem with fuel or air.
I need to know if the coils are the problem. I'm not sure how to test them or what the resistance values should be. The windings don't seem to be open because I get a reading of a certain ohms value (although I can't remember what they are right now). This model is an older one and has two coils installed on either side of the flywheel. One coil is connected to the On - Off switch and to the one side of the opposite coil. The other coil is connected to the spark plug lead and the other lead to the coil just mentioned.
I've done a little searching for parts. There are two different coil assemblies available from Husqvarna - Part No. 501516201 and Part No. 501516102. I'm not sure which one to use.
If you could help me sort this out I would be grateful.
Thank You,
Randy

    My Husqvarna model 350 chain saw has no spark with the plug removed and grounded. How do I test the ignition system to see if something must be replaced?

According to husqvarna the ignition coil is no longer avalible for this saw,the service bulliten says that every thing needs to be changed to make this saw work again.everything includes the flywheel,crank shaft,ignition coil,woodrif key,nut and washer.husquvarna will not let me order the origional coils.i do have a copy of the service bulliten if you would like a copy.just e mail me and i'll send one your way........

Cleaned spark plug on husqvarna 55 hard to pull cord wants to snap back help?

Most saws have a compression release valve which you press for that reason. It is located on the cylinder at the back of the saw. I don't know if the 55 has one , but it should.

I have a husqvarna 61 it wound pull over with the plug in but with it out it pulls over just fine

Assuming you have fitted the correct spark plug ( BPMR6A ) then it has to be an issue with the piston, if this is a after market piston it could have poor tolerences, the piston crown should be completly flat, not domed, if the piston is slightly too tall it will increse the compression to the point where you can not crank the engine, take the piston out and carfully compare it with the old piston.

Decoding a serial number

I am pretty good but single year serials are beyond my expertise (black on silver or silver on black sn tag is one key). Husqvarna Contact Us: UShttp://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/customer-support/ HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/ Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – useful when downloading IPLs and Manuals
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
Looking at the availabl IPLs it could be 87 or 97. They will help with decode. Lets let the real experts help. LOL

I have an Echo CS-440 18" chain saw and the chain came off. Now that I have put it back on, it won't move either by hand or when the engine is running. Help

OK.  This is simple. Either the chain brake is engaged or the chain is too tight. Start by pulling back on the chain brake toward you.  There should be a "click" if the brake was released.  If the chain is still immovable, try resetting the chain tension. 1. remove the spark plug wire 2. loosen the two clutch cover nuts 3.hold the bar nose up and loosen the tension adjustment screw until the chain moves freely without becoming loose. 4. tighten both clutch cover nuts with the bar held up. 5. Pull the chain around the bar by hand.  Loosen the adjustment if you feel tight spots. 6. When the chain is properly tensioned,tighten clutch cover nuts securely.  Do not overtighten! 7.  Check chain brake operation and release. 8. Replace spark plug wire and operate  saw.
Hope this solution will Fixya.
