Question about Panasonic TH-42PX60U Television
I have had my TV less than 2 years already I hate this thing. I had the power board go bad first after that was fixed i got a APC power conditioner now I have 4 vertical lines 2 black like bar codes and a red line and a multicolor line. The volume bar looks different now as well.
Buy a samsung save yourself the problems. Panasonic customer service is terrible they are all nice till u get to the warranty then sorry we can't help you pay to fix it or but a new TV. I still have TV's that are 15 plus years old from college what is going on!!!
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

This sounds like one of the driver boards at the bottom or top of the screen has an intermittent fault. The set will have to be taken in to a service centre.

Help! My Plasma by Magnavox is putting black verticle lines on the right side of the screen - comes and goes - and I replaced the entire Direct TV-HD unit - wires, everything - and had TV company repair - and it still came back. The TV repair refuses to take TV back because it does not show up when they come. Although I videotaped it and showed them which has the date and time - they still refused to take it - and tried to get me to sign a paper saying it was working while they were there - which of course I refused to sign - so they left and nastily said they will not be back-find someone else. I still have the lines - and do not know what to do! Can anyone help?

SOURCE: solid black vertical line
You could have one of three problems. One is really expensive to fix and you might want to trash the set. Thats if the panel is bad. Secondly, it could be a buffer board that went bad. Not as expensive as the panel. Finally, it could be the connection between the two. I would first take the back off and locate this board. Undo the ribbon cable and clean it off a bit and put it back. If its still there, you have a deeper problem.
The buffer boards are located across the bottow when you take the back off. About 3 inches wide. Sometimes they are on the top as well.
