No Audio Device

I am using an Intel Celeron E210882 Motherboard with D845GVAD2 chipset with an integrated Sigmatel AC97 audio driver on a Windows XP.

Recently I have completely lost the audio, that means: -

1. When I click on Volume Control I will get..."There are no active mixers available.

2. When into Hardware Manager, can't find any audio device there.

3. Use the CD-Rom that came with the motherboard, its a Intel Original but the Integrated Audio part has been greyed out.

4. When into BIOS and into the Peripheral area don't see anything beyond the last part which says...."Mode [Bi-directional].

5. Tried going into Load Optimal Defaults, saved it before exit and nope...nothing works. Which means no audio thingy in the BIOS for me to turn on in the first place.

6. Yes my pc is a custom made and not mass produced.

7. Even tried reformatting it still NOPE.

8. Last option if you guys can't solve it.....6 POUND SLEDGE HAMMER.

Please advise. Thanks a million.

I have a intel d845gvad2 motherboard..... and os:windows xp professional sp3 and i use sigmatel ac 97 audio driver.... but the sound output is not clear it is scratchy ... i tried installing realktek...

The Desktop Board D845GVAD2 offers integrated audio that uses a portion of the Intel® 82801DB I/O Controller Hub 4 (ICH4) with a SigmaTel* STAC9750/STAC9766 audio codec to create the basic audio subsystem.
It has The AC'97 (Audio Codec 1997) specification defines a high-quality audio architecture that advances the migration to digital audio, while maintaining support for analog interconnects for backward compatibility.
So uninstall your current driver otherwise your system will continue to undergo hardware failure & reboot continuously.
If your sound is still not good there's nothing to do except to install a sound card in your PCI slot & get better sound.

Sigmatel STAC9750/51 audio device driver downloadable

Sigmatel AC97 audio driver 5.1 for the STAC 9750 on Windows Vista, XP and 2000

Description
The Sigmatel AC97 audio driver is for Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000 (used in lots of Dell, and other brand, pc models). Technically, it is the rather long winded:

Sigmatel C-Major STAC 9750 AC97 WDM Audio Driver.

Whatever way you to label it, the driver package installs version 5.1 of the driver onto your system and can be used as an update to an earlier driver or as part of a new installation.

Hi Hasan007, download your manual for your FIC VC 11 at this link. http://taiwan.fic.com.tw/support/download.aspx?dl=motherboard%2fmanual%2fsocket478%2fvc11%2fvc11_a0_eng.zip&title=vc11_a0_eng.zip&info=manual

Your board is supported by the Intel chipset 845. Intel is supposed to include the intergrated PCI sound card driver for the, AC97 ICH2 audio controller along with the video controller. This link should get you to the AC97 driver.
ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/motherboard/driver/1stUtilities_v1.0/AUDIO/SIGMATEL/

Started the ftp here, opening the first folder top of the page.
ftp://ftp.fic.com.tw/motherboard/driver/

Once you get the correct driver (Sigmatel/AC97), your sound should work.

Good Luck!
Mike

Hi, To be able to help you on what audio driver to install, pls specify brand, model and version of your motherboard. If not printed on the MB itself, maybe you can check the info on POST or visually check the audio chipset on the mobo. Pls post back the info/details. Kind regards.
