Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Do Lenovo laptops kill non-Lenovo hard drives?

Yes, I had the same ...
To put things right I downloaded Linux Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/download), burnt it to dvd and used the non-working hard drive as the only master drive, and installed Ubuntu as the operating system. Then I erased Ubuntu by installing Windows XP.

As you already have Windows working on your computer, why not create a 'virtualbox' and install the tech preview inside your current operating system? Search for for Oracle virtual box for Windows hosts (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/virtualbox/downloads/index.html), download it and also download the guest box additions.

That just means if you have say, Windows 7 as your operating system, you create a virtualbox and install another operating system inside that virtualbox. You can run both operating systems at the same time.

If you don't fancy the idea of a virtualbox, you can use the inbuilt Windows disk partitioner to create another drive on your hard drive and install the tech preview there. Your computer will be 'dual boot' ... at start up you choose which operating system to use.

You can do the same using Linux - but be aware that Linux must go on as the SECOND operating system.

Your first port of call is to format those hard drives and put things right.

Lenovo 300 n200 .tengo xp, quise instalar win 7 sin resultado y ahora queda la pantalla de presentacion de lenovo tildada

That's because you made an overlay installation most likely, I mean trying to upgrade XP instead of installing W7 from scratch, which is best solution by far while of course you need to have a previous backup of your data.
Right now, if you have data you would like to save, what you can do is create a Linux disk with another PC, which might be Ubuntu. Start your PC and click on "I want to test Linux without installing anything", this will allow you access your data and do a proper backup before moving on.
Once done this, simply start with your W7 DVD once again and try install windows but removing previous OS, everything from scratch. It should work. Good luck!

No audio out put device installed

If I were facing this problwm, then I would have tried installing audio drivers on my laptop first.

You can download the drivers from the following website.

Using Ubuntu Hardy Heron - used to work fine, now it authenticates ok but cannot obtain an IP address. problem only started a couple of weeks ago. Previously in use for 12 months or so no problem. tried...

Do you have any other devices that are able to get an IP address? (Trying to see if it is the notebook or router).

If you assign the notebook a static IP can you access the network and Internet?
