The F9 error message usually means that the oven temperature is above 600 degrees F. Check that the fan is operating. Make sure that it is not blocked. Make sure the vent areas are not blocked. There could also be a welded relay contact or high resistance in the oven sensor leads or connections.

SOURCE: replaced the ERC. Ovens

Hi!!
To install the new ERC3DD transfer the wires one at a time. All terminals on the relays are labeled as follows: COM (common), NO (normally open) and NC (normally closed).

  1. VIOLET wire to BROIL1 and BROIL 2 RELAY ON THE "NO" TERMINAL
  2. YELLOW wire to the BAKE 1 and BAKE2 RELAY ON THE "NO" TERMINAL
  3. ORANGE wire to the CONV1 AND CONV2 RELAY ON THE "NO" TERMINAL
  4. L1 wire to the BROIL 1 "COM" TERMINAL
  5. L2 wire to the BROIL 2 "COM" TERMINAL
  6. CONNECT the flat connectors. The terminals are the same.
  7. GREEN wire is NOT going to be used
Try it like this and get back to me.

How often does it happen? Sounds like your control board is starting to fail. The Repair Shack can fix the oven control board if it needs repaired.

It is possible that a relay on the control board is bad. GE has a relay in the common circuit to the bake and broil element. this has been a problem in a few ovens I have repaired. Check for this it is usually an orange relay on the board.

From your description it sounds that the board is the problem. I found the control panel you need for a lot less than $200 though.
I found one online from a store that I have bought from many times. Part and shipping is about $153. They sell brand name stuff too and they have great service. I hope that this helped you.

F1 error/touch panel not working on GE Monogram Dual Oven

Usually, the F1 means that either the touch pad or the oven control (also called clock or ERC) is defective and needs to be replaced. If this fault code cannot be canceled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

I recommend a service call for this repair.

Upper oven problem,

The Keypad (membrane) switches seem to be malfunctioning, this is very common on ovens these days especially if the unit has been self cleaned often. If you replace the membrane switch the unit should have all its functions again.

The F4 error code generally means a bad temperature sensor or a short in leads to the sensor. Under room temperature conditions the resistance should be approximately 1100 ohms. If you are not comfortable around electrical apparatus and/or don't have an ohmmeter, you will need to contact an appliance repair technician. GE typically places a trouble shooting guide in the top of their ovens behind the touchpanel. You will have to remove three screws in the bottom of the touchpanel to open the panel. Be sure and turn off the power before opening the touchpanel!!!
