Question about Samsung SYNC SGH-A707 Cellular Phone
I've had problems with my cell phone shutting itself off in the middle of calls and when I'm test messaging. This is the second one that I've had of this same brand and model this year. The first one got so bad with shutting off while in use that I thought something had happened to damage it. I attempted to get warranty service but was told that it would be simpler to pay the $50.00 for the insurance deductable and get a replacement so that my problem whould be taken care of quickly and I would spend less time without a phone.
Is the problem of shutting off a common problem with this model or do I have battery saving settings set incorrectly, if there is such a setting? I going to swap the sim card into a old phone because I figure that my insurance will be cancelled if I complain to them.
Any assistance you can provide will be very much appreciated.

Initially, how long did you charge the battery of the phone? It is important to charge your phone 16 hours. What you can try to do is try to use a different battery. Other than that, you can give it a try updating your phone software or resetting your phone to factory defaults. Consult the manual on how to do it.

This is a known problem.
DO NOT LET THE DEALER SCREW YOU INTO PAYING A DEDUCTIBLE FOR SOMETHING THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO EXCHANGE ON THE SPOT. THAT IS FRAUD AND NOT THE INTENTION OF THE INSURANCE PROGRAM. sHOULD YOU DO THIS, YOU WILL NOT BA ABLE TO USE YOUR INSURANCE IN TIME OF A REAL EMERGENCY, LET'S SAY IT GET STOLEN OR WORSE, IT BREAKS.
Forget the quoted 4 hour talk time and 10 day standby; you will be very lucky to get 90 mins of talking or 2 days of standby, and that is with Bluetooth turned off. With Bluetooth on, you'll be charging this every other day.
Even worse, the battery goes from 2/3rds to no power very quickly and unpredictably. You will start the day thinking you have several hours of talking left, and will find yourself at zero power after a 15 minute call. Carry a spare battery and / or charger to avoid frustrating and inconvenient downtime, or better yet get a more efficient phone.
