Question about Hitachi CP-S235 Multimedia Projector
Did you clean the air filter? You should vacuum it or use an air dusting can to clean it out.
Afterwards, reset the time in the menu. In the manual, it says you have to go in the menu to the OPTION submenu. Go down to FILTER TIME and hold the right arrow down for 3 seconds. It will then go into a mini-submenu that, when you press the up arrow, will reset the filter time to 0. The key is to hold down the right arrow initially for THREE+ SECONDS to get into the reset filter time menu. This is NOT the submenu that has RESET - EXECUTE. That is a different thing that doesn't reset filter & lamp time.
Here's the manual online:

Probably overheated. Turn off the power and wait for the machine to cool. Then check that the filters are clean and that nothing is blocking air flow - and that fans are running. Turn it back on. If the same thing happens, they say to replace the lamp. I would check the number of hours on the lamp - it may be nearing end of life. Hopefully, it is a ventilation problem.
