First, if you have another desktop you may try swpping monitors. That way you can check wether it is the monitor or the graphics card on your computer. If problem persists after swapping monitors you can uninstall and reinstall the graphics card drivers.

Fuzzy screen with lines on desktop computer

Dear Debbie,
Greetings from New Zealand! Try a different monitor & see if fault still exists...If not the monitor, then could be fault in box...either hardware or software....(???maybe interference from other devices in home/nearby???) Your may need to install/replace video card - if you have one? (I THINK that if it is a fault in the all-in-one motherboard type of video that a separate "PCI" video card MAY solve it?) I hope that these suggestions help?! 'b'ye - Bruce.

PROBLEM WITH IBM LENOVO PC

most common causes are the frequency of the 42" monitor its not compatible with your vga card. ex: if your monitor only suports 100Mhz but your graphic card just have 80Mhz then you will have a blured, fuzzy or no image at all and the resolution is not a problem at all. you can have 640 x 480 res but if your card and monitor both support the same frequency then you will have a crystal clear image. the only solution is to upgrade your graphic card to one compatible with your monitor. i kow this will not solve your problem but hope it will help you to understand the problem.
Regards

The monitor on my computer screen is fuzzy and shaking. After turning the computer on and off a few times, I get a clear picture. What's causing this?

With out seeing the screen and the connections to the video card I can assume that
it is the cable that is loose but it may also be the video card itself and or the LCD
monitor.
1. check the video cable from the monitor to the video card port
2. check the cabinet (PC) for accumulated dust around the mother board or the video
card and the CPU ( central processing unit). Dust is a heat collector and may render the
mother board and component to act erratic or fail all together. check all connectors
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

Hi im josh in cebu phils. may i help? Friend your problem focusses on to hardware. first try to check your video card clean or change then after try to use the monitor.if it still appears the same. 2nd try to use your monitor in other pc.if still appears. the problem is your monitor. if you knew somebody around that could fix tv or appliances let him see your monitor.there maybe one of the capacitor in the monitor that is damage or burn out.let him change it. so that it will work again in condition. good luck.

Hi, It could be the monitor itself that is failing, have you tried plugging in another monitor?

Other than that the recovery disc may not have had the exact drivers for your monitor so you may be able to get the drivers or display adapter drivers for that monitor and install them.

Let me know how you go,
