Either the machine needs to be oiled or the motor is going bad.Remove the covers and place a drop of oil anyplace that moves and rubs.( The ends of each shaft, the bobbin case area. The needle bar and the joints that allow it to move) Those kinds of places. Also look for thread that may be wrapped around a moving part and remove it.
Check the motor by loosening the handwheel clutch(as though you were going to wind a bobbin) and see if the motor still runs slowly when it is not turning the machine.

My brother sewing is not working light is on i push pedel i hear voice but its not working

Sounds like a broken belt, not something you can do yourself. You need to bring it in for service.

Sewing machine running slow

check the plug in to the outlet first
then check the power cord connection to the sewing machine
could be something wrong with the power cord
could also be something wrong with the motor
also could be a wiring problem

I have an old pfaff 230 model. I need a new foot pedel, the pedel says it is model # 6000.

Look on your machine for the model number, that is more important. You can look at www.sewingpartsonline.com and see if you can find your pedal, but they look pretty expensive. You may be better off looking for a new machine. I had to bite the bullet when I had an old machine, I loved it but, it would have ended up costing too much and the new machines can handle everything so much easier than anything I had ever used. I even ended up making my grandkids halloween costumes, and I had given up doing that years ago because it was just too much hassle, now the new machine is a dream to use and I find myself making excuses to sew that I haven't felt in years. Good luck

Why does the sewing machine slow down on it's own.

Either it is lacking oil, or the motor may be at fault.

Machine will not complete a buttonhole, keeps showing error code 6L. No error code listed in manual. Machine will only do first half of buttonhole and then shows code and stops.

I've been looking too and I found here http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-bin/sewingclasses/board.pl?t=18328that you need to put the bar behind the needle threader down. I think they call it a button hole stop? I don't know, but it worked. I didn't even know it existed. But it solved my problem. On my Kenmore it looks like a black lever and you pull it down. It tells the button-holer that you are at the end of the hole and it needs to backup. nifty, kind of.

Machine only sews at very slow rate

Check the speed control button on the front of the machine. It could have gotten slid all the way over to "turtle."
