Question about IBM ThinkPad T21 Notebook

1 Answer

Ibm Thinkpad T21 Freeze

I can not get my Laptop to work.  When I press the power button, it will start but then as it is booting, it will freeze.  I will then hold the power button down to turn it off.  I go to turn it back on and it gives me the prompt to start it in safe mode and when I do start it in safe mode, it works.  Why does it only work in safe mode?  Please Help!!

You have a driver problem most probably safe mode only installs essential drivers. check the log files to see where the boot is freezing.

Need urgent help : staring problem with my IBM T21

Are you saying that it takes pressing the power button a number of times before it will start up? If there are no LEDs on (other than the power LED on the external A/C power adaptor) until pressing the power on button finally works then I suspect your power switch is defective. The only way to fix that is disassembly and replacement. Replacing the switch isn?t too hard however unless you have the tools, time and some experience you might want to consider taking it down to the local repair shop. If you have any more questions let us know and please don?t forget to rate this posting.
