Question about Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer

1 Answer

PF flashing, but no power failure from house elec.

Dryer shutting down, then after a few minutes of a blank screen will flash PF, although there's been no problem with the electric supply to the dryer. It will allow me to reset and start again, but will do the same thing after 20 or 30 minutes of drying. Doesn't seem to matter if I use auto cycles or manual cycles. My dad and I went thru the schematic sheets and tried to trouble shoot. We replaced the thermal fuse--but still having same problem. Will replacing the main circuit board help or not? Hate to spend so much if that's not the issue. Thanks.

I have same\similar  issue with my Kenmore HE2 dryer.
    Model # 110.86562500
    I think it's about 3 years old.

Dryer will SPORADICALLY shutdown in the middle of a load and flash PF. I simply hit power button and then turn dryer back on and all is well...then it happens again a few days later.

I have checked all connections (it is direct wired) from Panel to dryer and all are solid. Breaker appears OK as well.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

We have the SAME exact problem here - help, please!

Mr. Huuummm, you did not post a solution at all. All you did was advertise yourself and your fellow so-called "doctors".

This our second Kenmore HE2 and the first one was replaced one year ago with the same problem. Now the replacement is doing the same thing. We are just under the warranty time and are making the calls to get the service guy here. On the last one they replace every part in the machine before they finally lemoned it and gave us a new one. I have had the service tech her once already and he is back to scratching his head. I hate to get a 3rd one of these things and go through it again. But that may be our only recourse.

This is a big investment if that is not the problem.
I see my customers pump lots of do it your self money into their appliances before they call me.
And I wonder why if they are so thrifty they would waste hundreds of dollars by guessing????????????
I end up being 75 dollars service call and a 25 dollar part after they spent 150 to 200 on parts them selves. This is not a calculated risk.
My good advice is save your money and let the doctor do the surgery!
God bless you Huuum

Kenmore Elite Oasis 110.67087600 Dryer will not power up. No power at all. Prior to this it had a PF flashing. House power checked good.

PF - Power Failure - PF error code indicates a power failure during the dryer's cycle.
Press and HOLD start to continue the cycle, or press off/pause to clear display.

If no-go.. the timer is failed due to a power spike and must be replaced.
