i have 2 computers already connected to a router but the 3rd computer which i have just bought is refusing to join them i have spoken to my isp and everything is running well so the problem is elsewhere do you have any pointers that i could try, i am a 45yo technophobe so please be gentle.

- thanks for the reply after spending most of the night on it i finally went and bought a new router today and its now sorted, it was wireless by the way. Thanks again for your input.

Is it a wired or wireless connection? Go into control panel, network connections and make sure the local area connection is enabled. You could try right clicking on it and going to repair.
