Re: my laptop crashes everytime i plug in my Zen!!!
Were you able to try this to another computer? If it happens that it's still the same then the Zen is the main problem.
The zen doesn't come with a charger. Load your zen software and plug
the zen into your USB port. This is the only way for you to charge
If you have a charger, you might want to do this: Go to Creative's website and download the latest firmware. Check to see if there is a flashing blue light at the top and
an icon that changes from a plug to a battery.

it sounds like a possible back light problem. those are not something you can fix at home. if you are hearing music etc, mean definetly the back light is gone.
It's like a laptop computer, when the back light gone, you are still able to use the computer on an external monitor but not on the laptop lcd.
dont beleve your freind iv had my zen for a littel over a year and it has never crashed on my..............i dont know about the video thing im having problumes with the videos on my zen right now sorry
Corrupt DB, firmware to reolve on creative website
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause." try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.
By the way, before updating the firmware, let the battery have a full charge, ok?
