Blackberry Curve 8300 Camera Problems

My Blackberry Curve 8300 could not start the camera. It is saying I should close other applications and try opening the application again but itstill will not work. Any other suggestions? I have restarted my phone after waiting 30 seconds and I have gone through the whole holding of the "alt key and pressing the back key to view the other applications but none of those work."

Same problem. I have a memory card and removed it and then put it back in. Same problem each way. Haven't tried to wipe it yet.

When trying to start my camera it says that the "Camera could not be started close other applications and try opening the camera again"

Just spoke to AT&T. She talked to tech support who says that it is the device itself and not a software glitch. I was told that I have the option to use the insurance. In essence pay 150 for a new Blackberry that is now like 50.00 or since I was eligible for an upgrade I can upgrade my phone to a new one. What happens when you are not eligible for the upgrade? You have to pay a lot of money I say great customer service AT&T. Im thinking about switching to another service provider.

After reading many posts, I removed the back and and pulled out the battery, then removed the memory card and blew air all over it, put it back together in reverse order, and works like new.

The two solutions to this issue are to add a micro SD/SDHC memory card to the device, or to wipe the device (after prefoming a backup in Desktop Manager) to see if that works.

To wipe the device you will go to Options > Security Options > General Settings. Press the menu key, then select wipe handheld.

If these two options haven't worked, then the final thing to do is actually delete the entire operating system and reload it from scratch. There is a program called JL_Cmder that allows you to completely erase the operating system and data and programs. Check out the two links below:

I had the same problem. After deleting all pictures and a game.I thought that would help. I ended up just taking the battery out and putting it back in, it worked but it took about 5 minutes to restart.

I was getting this same error for a very long time. I finally gave up, then today was searching how to repair camera. I took my phone apart using a T-5 driver, and used a air blower and blowed the entire inside of the camera, front and back. Put back together, was about to wipe it clean using the Jl_Cmder, but for the hell of it, tried the camera once more, and was amazed that it worked like it never went bad. Not sure if it will work for everyone, but it sure did for me.

GOOD LUCK, i am happy as can be!!!!

Your OS maybe corrupted so you will need to reinstall the OS, you can do this by connecting the phone to your pc/laptop using the USb cable then open the Blackberry Desktop Manager and click on the apploader then install the applications and install the OS as well as the features for the phone....

Take the battery cover off. Take your finger and press on the lens area (below the flash) you should hear a "snap". Don;t over do it though.

How do i reset blackberry curve 8330 to factory settings

are you actually going to the menu button and selecting close on each screen or just hitting end or the return button to get to the home screen? If you don't actually select close in the menu screen some progams remain open. go into all applications when there press the menu key and scroll down to close this should help
