I have a logitech optical wireless mouse It is the MX model bought 4 weeks ago. I installed its software.

every so often it seems to ignore left mouse clicks but the cursor still moves when I move the mouse.

This problem existed before this new mouse with an older logitech wireless mouse. That is why I bought the new one.

I changed the channel of the new mouse with little luck.

My wireless router is at 2.4GHz and so it the usb wireless mouse.
    Could this be the problem.

I have scanned my pc for add ware, spy ware, and viruses and none found.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Thanks

Check the battery and see if its plugged in properly. you may consider setting up the connection between the wireless mouse and the receiver.

you might have to uninstall the mouse then restart your computer then reinstall the mouse and its drivers
make sure the battery is good (has full charge)also you might test the usb device for the mouse is inserted correctly into the usb port (if applicable)
click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons, pointers, pointer options and hardware under hardware you can troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have options to update driver, rollback driver or uninstall and under hardware you can troubleshoot
in xp
hope this helps

Try to use it on another computer to isolate if the problem is the mouse or the software on your computer.

If the mouse does not work in another computer, then the mouse is defective.

Is the mouse does work in another computer, then reinstall the drivers on your computer.

Go to the manufacturer website to download the appropriate drivers

My cursor on the screen will not respond to the movements of my mouse. 1) the green light on the USB receiver is green and not flashing 2) there is red light on the bottom of my mouse, indicating power

Still change the batteries even tho you have a light on. These things get funky when power is low.

if that doesn't do it, un plug the adapter and re place it,then reconnect devices.

Cracked it! Instructions and website are useless!
What it does not tell you to do is:-
1. plug in wireless usb part and let windows install.
2. put batteries in mouse, it turns on automatically but turn it off by pressing the button underneath for 3 - 5 seconds.
3. Press the button on the wireless usb stick until the green light on the stick comes on. When you release the button it stays on for about 10 seconds. In the time that the green light is on turn on the mouse with a short press on the button underneath to register with the wireless usb stick.
4. Well it worked with mine after I figured it out - no thanks to the instructions. tried on vista ultra and xp home.

Red light always on

The red light will go off when you unplug the receiver from the USB and place it back at the bottom of the mouse, otherwise when you turn off computer, put a piece of adhesive tape to hold down the small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed in the mouse. Good luck!!! Chawah.
