Is it possible to upgrade the mother board in this computer?

Dell Cases are very often only for Dell boards--connectors not standard--It can be done, but a lot of trouble. If you want to really speed up look for good complete kit from tigerdirect.com--and put it together--Will work A LOT better than what you can buy at stores.

The monitor on my computer screen is fuzzy and shaking. After turning the computer on and off a few times, I get a clear picture. What's causing this?

With out seeing the screen and the connections to the video card I can assume that
it is the cable that is loose but it may also be the video card itself and or the LCD
monitor.
1. check the video cable from the monitor to the video card port
2. check the cabinet (PC) for accumulated dust around the mother board or the video
card and the CPU ( central processing unit). Dust is a heat collector and may render the
mother board and component to act erratic or fail all together. check all connectors
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

I'm truing to install a new hard drive with my OS 10.3

Well, first of all, you should reset the CMOS by unplugging the power cord from the computer, then take the battery out, which should be easy to spot. Put it back in after about 10 seconds and plug the power cord in as well.

Now, turn on the computer, and see if you might see any thing, other than a black screen or no signal message.

If you don't see anything, it's possible that the motherboard has been damaged.

If you see something, then goes back the no signal, then your motherboard might be working.

When i turn on my computer. a password screen pops up and i can't remmember my password, and i can't do any thing with it cuz it doesn't even go to the boot up screen can some one tell me how to get passed...

If you have a manual, that would help. If not, write me the exact vendor, board number and rev. if possible.
Like Compaq, Pro linea x2200. That would be a big help. If you have the manual, and are not afraid, you will take off the outer sheet metal to get at the Mother board. Look in your manuak about how to erase the password. If you can't find it, look for a flat coin looking piece on your motherboard. This is a backup battery. Make sure you see writing on the top so you can put it back in the same way. There should be a couple clips close together holding it to it's holder. Take your thumb and try to flick the battery out of there ( with the unit unplugged of course). It should pop out. If that seems too complicated, there may be a jumper for clearing RTC and sometimes a 2nd one to clear password. That is where the manual comes in handy. If you need me to look up your model online, be very concise with your description of the machine. This is an easy fix, just hard to write about.

Just because the computer does not compute, it does not mean that it is the brain that is in trouble. I said that to you yesterday. When I was a student at the Univarsity, I fixed televisions to try and balance my budget. I had many people that cam in and asked me to change their picture tube because they had no picture. A computer is a device slightly less complicated than a television receiver. So, please give me symptoms and we go from there. This service is either free or very cheap. Don worry. We will not take you for a ride. <arzobconst@yahoo.com> My name is Constantin

EMachine T3406 wont boot

is there a post beep when the pc is switched on. check the memory if it is a beep beep beep sound , also disconect the hard drive, dvd drive, floppy, and any usb devices and see if it boots up. if that fails it does seem like the mother board, also check the cpu fan has it stoped. also find out the power switch conector on the mother board, from the base unit switch to the mother board. also chech the power connector from the power supply to the mother board , on newer boards there are two that go to the mother board its self , a big one and a very small one .
