Ceiling fan makes a clicking noise

Our ceiling fan which we never turn off except to clean just started to make a clicking noise which drives my husband crazy when we try to sleep.
Is there any way to oil or fix this problem? The fan is only a year old and wasn't cheap.
Thanks

remove the cover and clean anything in the vent , check the fan for anything that could be touching it, as the back draft comes through the vent, something could just be touching the fan blade as this draft makes the blade turn slowly, which would create a ticking noise

Humming noise

If you are using a dimmer switch to operate the fan instead of a fan speed controller, that is the cause of the humming. If you turn down the speed to the lowest setting and the hum gets louder, then your controller needs to be replaced.

Power up IMac but screen blank, fan on, light on but no response

I have one doing exactly this at the moment. It had gone to sleep and the fans were going like crazy. I think it is a Motherboard failure (it happened with many G5 iMacs), this one has been replaced once already, and I can't actually get it to install anything. I'm taking it apart tomorrow to see what I can find inside. If I fond anything I'll let you know.

Blower fan in the freezer is making a vibrating

only if the fan noise is driving you crazy. the noise is probaly the motor starting to go out. you can replace it. it might save you money in the long run to replace it, if it goes out you could run into bad food in your fridge.

Fan motor noise

Does the fan seem to wobble when it is operating? If so, the fan blades may be out of balance. You can purchase self-adhesive weights to stick on the top of the blades to get them balanced properly. It is a trial-and error process, but it is the easiest and most cost-effective way of reducing fan noise. Other possible causes might be: the fan is loose in its mounting, or the mounting itself is loose .A wire inside the fan motor may be rubbing against some moving part. Also, the fan unit may not be properly grounded, or wired with reverse polarity., causing a 60 cycle "hum".
