I just bought the 65 inch LCD from Sharp. It worked for 2 days. We turned the TV off last night. The power button on the front is blinking green. The manual power button and the remote do not respond. We can not turn the TV on. We removed the power cord for 10 minutes to reset it but nothing works. The troubleshooting guide does not address the power link blinkin green. Suggestions?
my sharp 65" lcd (lc-65d64u) worked for 9 days. it will not power on. the green power light blinks off and on. i've tried unpluging the set, but the green light keep blinking. i called sharp they said to take it back to sears and get another set. sears does not have any more 65" sets. sears want to try to fix the set. i don't trust sears to fix the set in a timely and correct way because of other experiences with sears tv and appliance repair.

This fault on that TV was with its power supply that feeds the LCD screen drive. The unit knows if it hasn't got an ouput to the screen from the power supply and flashes to indicate the problem. I'd suggest to try unplugging and leaving for 10 minutes before trying again. Then see if you can get any menu functions to appear as you trun it on.
However, then it'll need repairing by qulified technician.

Good day sir/maam, chances are, yes or no, yes, the surge do has the ability to damage your TV, but no, modern TVs are autovolt (it can work from 90v-240v) so check the manual or back panel to confirm. The most deadly part of the surge is it can hit more than 500v at a split of a second, damaging your TV's switching power supply. The TV's power supply is bad. it cannot produce the proper voltage to power your TV. thats why its on standby. Bring it to your dealer for proper advice on the status of your TV.
You need to change your TV's settings and enhancements. Directly from the store and out of the box, the settings are adjusted for easiest sell in the store. That means that: Your contrast is cranked to 100. Move this down to 50 to 60. Your brightness may also be cranked up high. Lower it to a level nearer the middle range but not so dark as to lose detail in the shadows. Your TV is set on "Dynamic" or "Vivid" mode. Pick "natural" or "normal" or standard. Your sharpness is at least on, if not cranked up. Turn sharpness down or off, and the same with "Edge Enhancement" and "VSM", all to off.
Lastly, I bet you upgraded size and you are now sitting too close to the TV. Roughly, if you are sitting closer than 130 inches (about 11 foot) you might do some rearranging or save some money and get a smaller TV.
