Need Manual for RCA VHS Camcorder Model No. CC-636

It sounds like one of my older, been-in-storage for awhile, camcorders. When they sit for without being used fairly regularly, there is often a bit of dampness that settles into the camera. If left in a warm room, this may help dry it up and allow the open/eject function to work. To help it get un-stuck, you could gently press inward on the door (do not pry outward) and try to loosen it up. It may take a few times with this process to allow the door to jar loose.

Here's a link to the manual for your camcorder. Take a look at page 11. There are composite (dont confuse with component) audio and video outputs. If your TV has the same type of inputs, then a direct connection between the TV and camcorder is possible. Otherwise, you will need a composite video converter to change the format to a specific channel, usually 3 or 4.

On the VHS adapter, try changing the battery (also in the manual as well) to restore operation.

they list both the batteries and the chargers for this model of camcorder

Some RCA camcorders feature both Automatic and Manual recording modes. Some features on these camcorders are only available in Manual mode. Check to make sure the POWER switch is set to M, and not A, then try again. If you are unsure of the recording model features of your camcorder, refer to the owner's manual or the product catalog on the website. Look on the bottom of your camcorder to locate the model number.
