Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Calculator

When I try to enter multiple equations into the y= screen it will only graph the last equation. Ex: If I enter three equations into y1,y2,and y3 then my calculator will only graph the equation that is entered in y3.

This is simple... Back up all RAM, (press second+, then 2, then 1, press enter to back up something if backed up it will have a star by it) Then clear your RAM (pull out your batteries while the calc is still on or press second+, then 7, then 1)

Hope this helps!

Error 07 Syntax

Means you made a typing error while entering the equation. Using the minus sign instead of the negation sign (change sign) (-), can produce a syntax error. Maybe you need to explicitly type the multiplication sign

y= (-) 1.5*x +3

Try entering it as 3 - 1.5*x

After you enter the data draw the SCATTER plot first.

When you perform the (linear) regression analysis LineReg, save the regression equation to a function, for example Y1

The syntax is

LineReg L1, L2, Y1 ENTER

From the Stat>CALC menu press LineReg

The command echoes on command line

Press [2nd][1] to enter the L1 list on command line

Press [,] to separate

Press [2nd] [2] to enter L2 on the command line

Press [,] the comma again

Press [VARS][>][Y-Vars][1~Function][1:Y1] [ENTER]

Press [GRAPH] to have the regression line equation drawn

on the same screen as the Scatter Plot you drew before.

Try pressing enter after you put in the first equation, then put in the second equation.

Some time or other she played with the Transfrm Application. It remains in memory and takes over the graphing capabilities of the native OS. It must be kicked out of memory.

- Press [APPS]
- Use Up or Down arrows (Up is faster) to get to the bottom of the APPS list.
- Locate [:Transfrm], highlight it and press [ENTER]
- In subsequent screen, select the [UNINSTALL] option.
- Go back to the [Y=] screen and enter or edit your functions.
- Press [GRAPH] when finished entering the functions.

This is my last post. It seems that I squanderd my time for zilch. There is a simple way to reset the defaults or the RAM. I stopped suggesting it because ..(what is the point?).

Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Yes] [ENTER]. Message RAM cleared is displayed on screen. Press [CLEAR] key. Screen should clear the message.

If that does not solve your problem..

The marking that so puzzle you define the type of line (or dots) to represent the graphs. Enter as many functions as there are Y variables.

After entering a function press [ENTER] to jump to the next one.

When you go to Y=, you should get a list that says:

Y1=

Y2=

Y3=

etc. You just enter the first equation into the Y1= space then hit ENTER and it will go to Y2=. Enter the second equation there. After you have entered all of your equations, push GRAPH and they should come up in order but they will all appear.

Also, make sure your window is set appropriately so that you are able to see all of the graphs.

Lastly, when you look at your Y= screen, are there funny looking arrows before the Y=? If so, do this:

Press [APPS] key
Select Transfrm from the menu
Press 1:Uninstall

Hope one of these are helpful!!
