Probably a worn bearing. The only other thing that I have seen cause this is a bent spindle. This would usually occour if the machine has had an impact or if the blade has been suddenly jammed against a nail or something in the work that has caused it to jam and/or jump up.
A good indicator for bearing wear is to see how much play is in the blade in an up/down and side to side movement (unplug saw, safety first).
To check spindle, remove blade and run machine without the flanges etc on. Rest a scredriver gently on the shaft as it spins and see if you notice any (uniform) vibration.

I replaced the blade in the dewalt DW716 mitre, now the blade spins slow and trips my breaker??

Hello, W/D here.

Remove your new blade. With the hardware, bolt, washer, blade and cups off, try the saw. If it operates correctly, re-examine how the blade is installed One blade cup goes on, followed by the blade, then the other cup, followed by the washer and bolt assembly. If the cups were in the wrong order, the blade can drag against the frame of the saw, pulling too many amps, and tripping the breaker.
Here is a link to DeWalt. Enter your model # for manual download and exploded diagrams.

Hi my dewalt 708 lx sliding mitre saw, 110v, seems to only have half the power(speed) that it should have, and cannot cut timber on a compound cut because of this, any suggestions please.

I have heard complaints that this saw does not do well on angled cuts because of its low power. Try running a shorter and/or thicker extension cord and checking your input voltage. That's about all I can think of, hope it helps.

Can't change mitre angle

you need to remove the guide fence with the screws on the back. then you remove the throat plate and there is the bolt is that keeps it all together.

Just took one apart last week, not really difficult

I lost my manual and need to adjust the bevel settings

Make sure its a compound mitre and not just a mitre saw. The check in the back for a round knob with degrees marks on it, theres your adjuster.

Replacement of power cord on a Dewalt 708 type 3 slide mitre

Not that bad, I would go to Dewaltservicenet.com and look at an explosion before taking yours part. You have to remove the top of the handle, there is cover on the side towards the blade that is tight to remove and then the strain relief on the tube. The cord set that you need is 330078-98 list for 16.76. It is a 10ft 16-2 wire. Just take your time and if you are handy with tools you should have no problem. Let me know if I can help I work on them all the time.

I do not know your machine but from previous experience I know that a sircular saw blade wobbles when it was over heated during use.
