Make sure the player is compatible with your TV broadcast standards. A Pal player will show b&w pictures when connected to a NTSC tv and vice versa

I forgot the password to my samsung dvd player V3500. I want to reset it for no parental controls & i do not have the user manuel

If you forgot your password, press power on from a cold start

with no disc in the unit. Press the REW and F.F buttons

simultaneously on the front panel for 5 seconds. The "reset ok"

message will appear. Press the POWER button and the
DVD-VCR will go to the "Auto Setup" mode. (See page 13)

I have a Samsung DVD-VR357. I get no color on vhs tapes. I only get black and white.Picture is good. DVD color is ok. When I copy VHS to DVD, the DVD copy is in black and white also. DVD copies from...

Are you trying to copy a comercial VHS tape to DVD?
If you are then macrovision copy protection system on either the tape or in the machine is the reason for the loss of colour.
There's not a lot you can do about it. If you want to copy commercial material you will need to transfer it to a computer and get a program to do it. But unless it's unavailable it is cheaper to buy the DVD version I have found and you will get better picture and sound too!
If it does it with a none comercial tape (ie something recorded of the TV). Then it could be a head fault or something else. In which case try cleaning all the heads guides etc first.
