It is related to the 1st problem which is similar a little.
But in this situation the real problem is the Amplifier IC which sent a high ampere
back to power supply and cut out the fuse.
The best thing to do bring it to repair shop to trouble shoot the power supply.
I suggest that because the a lot of parts or IC brand suited to this specification for
replacing the exact defective parts.

Alesis M1 Active Mk2 Speaker won't Power Up

Hi, This is usually the Capacitor C8 on the powerboard it usually bulges and pops, its becuase its right next to a resistor which gets very hot and sometimes puts the capacitor into meltdown, yours might have gone past that stage but this is worth a look; http://www.neufeld.newton.ks.us/electronics/?p=232

Hope this helps

Cheers

Alesis m1 mk2 active emits low pitch hum and does not work

You need to take a closer look really, see if anything on the power supply board inside has melted, burned, popped, etc.

Fuse blows found bad parts on the board...

Hi, Email Alesis and ask very nicely and they might email you a copy of the schematics, which also has the parts listed, etc.

I had the problem of the blinking LED's a few years back, really odd, and fixed it, and now I do a search and all I can find is people with the same problem or similar. Depending on how bad the damage is, it should be repairable unless its done extensive damage to the PCB board. PCB boards are still available to buy, dont bin it, they are too good to be binned ;)

Speaker will not turn on

Actully the problem is your speaker which is shorted. The speaker assembly or the one who crashed out always, when you excited the volume to max it feedback to amplifier Ic to cut the fuse blown. The amperage goes up and sent to either left or right amplifier power supply.
Even you replace the fuse with a new one it will repeat the situation and story.
later sooner it will damage more.

Opening up speaker enclosures

take out the screws that hold the tweeter in place and lift out the tweeter. There is a cover that hides the screws on the woofer. Its the one on the front with the Alesis name on. You need a small screwdriver or small blunt tool to prise it off. One off you will see the screws for the woofer

Fuse keeps blowing?

The fuse is a protective device. Fuses dont blow unless the amp ( in your case ) is drawing too much current. DO NOT put a bigger fuse in. Obviously, there is a problem with the amplifier inside the sub. If the sub is under warranty, send it in for repair to an authorized warranty depot. If not it's not under warranty, then take it to the authorized warranty depot anyway. Why ? because they will have the schematics ( electrical diagrams ) to troubleshoot the unit quickly and it may be a common problem. If it is a common problem, the factory may have released a modification and possibly it could be covered under warranty under a factory 'goodwill' program. Good luck. Rob

Alesis M1 ACTIVE MONITOR amp circuitry board is ticking

The flashing blue LED and loss of sound on the Alesis M1 powered monitor is caused by failure of capacitor C8 (220uF, 35V) on the power supply board. It dries up due to its proximity to resistor R4 (47K, 2 W) which gets very hot. This is a design fault.

Remove the power supply board (4 corner screws and 2 mains connector screws) and disconnect the two plugs. Carefully desolder C8 and replace it. Its value is not critical (220 to 470 uF will do) but it should be a 105 deg. type, preferably at 50V.

Remove R4 and replace it with a similar resistor with its leads bent so that it is nowhere near C8, otherwise the fault will return. One end may be connected to one of the existing R4 solder pads (furthest from rear of board), and the other to the top end of resistor R3. Check that you have connected it correctly by inspecting the PCB tracks.

Replace the board and all screws and plugs before testing.
