USB Mass Storage Error - Even when removed!

I have an HP desktop and have had NO probs inserting my SD card(s) into the drive and having the HP Image zone program popping up to upload my pics. For some reason, now, when I put my card in, no lights come on, no humming of the computer, etc. When I go to explore, the E-H drives don't even show up. Last week I uninstalled the "USB Mass Storage" (under device manager options) and then the drives popped up. No matter how many times I uninstall/restart, the drives don't show up and I can't get my pics off my card. I've ditched the USB option b/c it was also flawed.

Any help???? I love my pics and want them off my camera - I'd also like to see my drives! :D

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

How do i take off the write protection off my sd card

not sure about sd card

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value.
click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine.
# Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual.

also
If you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to:

- click start right click on my computer select open
- Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something)
- Click Properties in the menu that comes up
- Click the Sharing tab
- Click permissions
- And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

hope this helps

SD card not recognized. Card has pictures from my Canon camera. Attempting to put the pictures from the card to my sister's Compaq Presario SR2050NX Desktop. I put it in the SD drive and nothing...

The driver for the SD card slot may not be installed.
The other option is to insert your SD card into a USB card reader and then connect it to the USB port on the computer. This computer will see this as an external USB storage device and then you can copy and paste the images into the computer.

Sd card not recognizable

I read the following spec for your camera: Recording Media Internal Flash Memory 64MB Video/Image
SD/SDHC Up To 32GB Video/Image
So, I think that an 8 GB SD card should work.

Try another capacity and brand to make it work.

When it displays insert memory card for connecting as mass storage device, switch off the phone and reconnect so the phone will perform as a memory storage device.

Good luck.

How to use sd card to upload pictures from pc to flash card

Yes. Operating systems that recognize memory cards usually provide access to them similar to the way other storage devices (such as hard drives) are accessed. Use an SD Card reader, mount the SD Card as a USB Mass Storage Device and drag and drop the files over to it. Remember the old 4.3 floppy drives? Insert it into the computer, access it through MY COMPUTER (if not prompted by the computer depending on your operating system) and drag and drop onto the PC. I hope this helps and good luck!
Please remember to vote f72d86b.jpg if this helps in any way. Thanks.

CD/DVD thinks there's no disk in.

- mass storage device in = SD card.

- The DVD/CD can't recognize any type of disk inserted: Replace the CD-DVD unit, it is with problem.
