Question about Zenith E44W48LCD 44" Rear Projection HDTV
Triangular yeelowish blue image on screen when TV is on. Also seen durring black screen conditions. Probably LCD in Light engine. Can a kit be purchased to repair this? Light engiine is extreamly over priced new. I can send it in for repair for $325.00 still expensive and not necessary as I can repair this myself, just looking for a repair kit. What usually needs to be replaced for this king of a failure. Where can I get discrete parts?

SOURCE: Sony WEGA LCD tv has
I had the same problem (w/o the blue specs). Sony extended the warrentee on this issue to the end of 2008. But hurry since I am not sure on that. They offered to fix it for free or sell me the latest flat panel ($2,500 at Best Buy) for $850. I took the flat screen since this problem will probably come back even after the fix. Also, they let you keep the old TV.

I suggest u retrace you the steps u took to replace your lamp make sure no foriegn objects got on the prism where the light shines throung the optics engine, if you remove the lamp compartment througly. If you had a perfect picture prior to replacing the lamp, then retracing your steps you might find something that does not belone. One final note: Did you purchase the right lamp 120watts anything higher than this wattage could damage your optics engine. I suggest never vacuuming the compartment because particals fly around from the suction and could get on the glass of the color wheel asembly.
