Question about Kodak EasyShare Z730 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Camera won't work after being dropped in toilet

My son dropped my easyshare Z730 in the toilet. He didn't tell me he dropped it and I found out when I went to close the lens on it and I got water on my hands. It would have happened within the prior 10-15 minutes of me finding it. I immediately took out the battery and card and set them out to dry. I opened up the camera as much as I could to let dry. After 2 days I put it back on the dock with the battery back in. All looked dry. It charged up according to the dock, but I still have no power to it. I can't even close up the lens.

Any ideas would be helpful!!

Thank you!!!

Have Kodak EasyShare Z730, how do i format for SDHC Card 4GB?

You don't. The Z730 works with MMC and SD cards, not with SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible. You need to use cards 2GB and smaller.

Trying to format a media card 4gb and my kodak easyshare does not allow me to do that. am I forgetting something?

The Z730 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. You need to stay with cards 2GB and smaller.

When I insert a new memory card into my Z730 it tells me "memory card must be formatted" but it will not format. The memory card that is currently in the camera works fine!

Hello. Some of these memory cards have a small lock slide on the perimeter. Check yours to see if in fact, it is in the lock position which would prevent you from formatting. Formatting erases everything from the card so the lock is a protection.

I have this camera and it came in a package with Series 3 Printer Dock. You can also check the Kodak website and they have a compatability chart.
