My alarm is repeatedly going off for no reason. Does anyone know what could be wrong with it?

My 2002 Ford Taurus's alarm goes off when you lock all the doors after about 10 min. Then it'll keep going off until you unlock at least 1 door.My 1998 Mustang GT also had the same problem.

My experience leads me to believe that the remote battery may be weak. Try replacing the battery and see if the condition is eliminated. this is the first thing that I would check if your vehicle was in my service department.

You should consult a repair person to check your alarm.

Minimiזe the risk of it going off first.

(1) Open and close the doors/boot/bonnet to make sure one isn't partly open.

(2) If there's a plunger switch for the bonnet then push that up and down a few times to maybe get rid of a dodgy connection.

(3) Press the recirculating air switch/lever with the engine on and make sure you hear it whirr into position.

(4) Close all face vents

(5) Turn the air direction switch to the feet/floor

Then try your alarm. It could be something simple like the sensitivity needing to be turned down or a faulty sensor.

I bought my car used with an aftermarket prestige alarm w/ remote start. Battery and alternator went bad. They have been replaced. The car will not turn on and alarm remote is not working.

Locate a black push button switch under the dash or near the drivers side kick panel (older model), or the alarm has a push button LED light(newer model) or the Valet switch is in the antenna(newest model). Turn the ignition on, press and release the switch one time. This should disarm the alarm.

For programming: turn ignition on, press and release the valet switch three times: you will hear one chirp from the alarm, press the lock button on the remote. Press and release the valet one time, you will hear two chirps from the alarm, press the unlock button on the remote. Repeat as necessary. Turn igniton off to exit programming. Test remote for proper functioning.

The issue is not with the remote as you have stated the vehicle attempts to start. The issue may be with an immobilizer bypass module but, I can't say for sure because you mention the year/make/model of the vehicle. Usually the vehicle will give you visual reason for the failed attempt( the lights will flash a set number of times). But, in any event, the issue is not with the remote and more information is required to assist you.

Toyota previa alarm keeps going off and beebing

Try this first before buying a new battery or replacing with a new aftermarker alarm. (1) Make sure all doors are closed completely and locked (2) On the drivers door, use your key to turn LOCK then UNLOCK, Open the door and close then repeat again (3) Proceed to Sliding door and turn UNLOCK - you should hear all doors unlock and you've completed the factory reset. Open driver door and turn ignition, your vehicle should now start.

it may be no reason to you but the trembler switch on these can be very sensitive and a gust of wind or a car going by can set them off, ifound that setting the remote lock 2 times switches this mode off.

Python car security won't let me start my car

It sounds like you might have a dead battery in the car. When the alarm is losing power due to a bad connection or faulty battery it will act exactly as you have described. You can disarm any DEI alarm by turning the ignition on with the key and pressing the valet switch one time.
Hope this helps you out.

to disable the alarm, you would 1st need to know where the valet button is. It is usually underneath the dash. What you do is u open the door and of course the alarm is going to be set off you quickly turn the key to the on position and press the button once and then wait, then the alarm should shut off and now you can start your vehicle. Thats the standard procedure for the DEI alarms. For some reason it doesnt disable it then your other option would be finding the alarm brain and pulling out both fuses. One is for the lights and other is for the main power to the brain, i say pull both to make sure you have successfully killed the power to the alarm
