I may need a little more information to understand the exact nature of the problem. First, it sounds like the printer worked normally until the computer was rebooted, and then it stopped working completely...is that correct?

Do you get any error messages, either on the printer's display panel or on your computer? There should be a printer icon in the bottom right corner of your computer's screen. Does it look "normal" or is there a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it?

Frankly, rebooting the computer shouldn't result in the printer becoming completely non-responsive. My first suggestion would be for you to unplug the printer's power cord, wait about 10 seconds, and then plug the printer's power cord back in. Leave all of the other cables attached (USB connection to the computer and such). Make sure the computer is on and running while you do this.

Let the printer completely power up. It has to go through a start up routine, more or less the way your computer does. See if you can get a connection afterwards. Sometimes a glitch will occur and rebooting the printer will clear it.

If this doesn't do the trick, please post back more details about the nature of the problem. Thanks.

How do i get my Lexmark X2350 Printer to send e-mail? I scan my documents, but the new e-mail box does not appear after the scan like its suppose to.

Hi Marthawinter, I support the advice given by the first installer, please remove you telephone number.

You appear to have tried most of everything, if your printer has excess to use a USB to printer cable, I suggest this is your best way to proceed. Once you have achieved connection via this medium, you can then avail of a wireless selection.

If not, find the wireless set up on your printer and press the WPS button on the printer this should allow connection.

Hi I have a new brother printer and it was working fine. I have gone to use it again and it keeps saying the printer is offline...yet I have registered again and everything is the same. Help


check that the printer cable is inserted fittingly, on the computer and on the printer, if alright,change the port from which the printer cable is connected,am assuming it is usb. if still not responding, turn off the printer, reboot the computer, and turn it on, if it fails, unplug the printer from the computer and uninstall the driver. reboot the computer and reinstall, while installing, it may prompt you to plug it in. if it does not, do not worry, just plug the printer cable after the installation is through, the computer should recognize a new device and go on to auto install, if it does not, then you have bad usb port port or controller drivers. to be certain, plug any other usb device onto the port(s), if positive, buy a new usb card and install on computer and connect printer

This is my second time with the HP 5550 printer just disappearing from my computer. My husband reinstalled it using the CD and in Settings Printer/Faxes, it says it is there. We have rebooted, tested...


Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
