It insists there is a Cartridge problem on the Printer............ In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... Blinking Stopped...........Issue Resolved....... Still Blinking: Remove both the Cartridges take a Paper Towel turn the catridges direction so that u can see a Copper plate with small boxes on it....... Just wipe it twice or thrice with the Paper Towel.......... Now insert it and Power on the Printer and see whether the Lights are still blinking if it is still blinking...... I have a four in one Lexmark x5630 printer and have replaced cartridges with brand new black and colour 36 & 37xl. The printer won't even print a test page - just says that cartridge error co

The problem could be due to a communication failure between one of the printheads (cartridges) and the All-In One (AIO) or by a short in one if the printheads. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
  3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  7. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
Try to contact the store where you bought the new cartridge(s) and have them replace it. You may also contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance (especially if you're using genuine cartridges).

Cartridge Error .... help!? I've read all the other replies and it's not helped!

Just make sure you are using a genuine Lexmark cartridge and not some remanufactured, refilled or clone cartridges. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

Hi.. i have a lexmark z617 printer and everytime i want to print a document with colours, it power button starts blinking. When i removed the colour cartridge, then the power button stops blinking. what...

When did this start happening?
After a long time not being used, the ink dryes and clogs the heads. Try cleaning the heads and install a new ink cartridge. Run any fresh install that is issued with the printer.

I purchased a new cartridge and it prints ok - problem is the printer shows the cartridge to be empty {Lexmark X8350 printer} I contacted Lexmark Service and they were unable to help - spent one hour on...

I guess Lexmark should pay for the new cartridge if they are asking you to get a new one.

Anyway, remove and reinstall the new cartridges. By the way, did you got the new cartridges or a refilled ones? Refilled ones may not work and show empty.

Check if the printer configuration on the computer have a procedure for installing new cartridges and follow the instructions.

If you already know the procedure for installing cartridges, clean the contacts with a soft cloth, be sure not to touche the contacts with the fingers.

Good luck!
