I have had no problem for two months then yesterday the unit stopped working with my phone. The Icon is up on the screen but does not see my phone numbers and will not dial home if asked. If someone is calling in it does not give the option to pick up and if I pick up from the phone I need to disable the unit for me to hear my caller on the phone. Both the phone and the unit say they see each other.

Re: My Bluetooth interation suddenly stopped working
Many problems related to pairing can be corrected by verifying that the latest firmware is loaded to the GPS unit and the phone. To update the firmware on the GPS, please use the WebUpdater program. To make sure the phone has the latest firmware updates, please contact the phone service provider for more information.
One additional tip is to always pair the phone with the GPS from the phone itself. Do not attempt to pair to the phone from the GPS unit.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Try deleting the stereo from your bluetooth profile in your phone. Then try disconnecting the positive battery lead for a minute or so and reconnecting to reset the stereo. Then try again. If not, contact Kenwood support, and if it's still under warranty period, I would complain :)
The Bluetooth symbol on the bottom left of the screen will not show up unless the unit is linked with a compatible phone and Bluetooth is turned on. When the phone is not connected or the Bluetooth is turned off, you will not see this icon. The same thing goes for the Traffic icon. If you do not have an active traffic receiver connected, the Traffic icon will not show up either.
In first instance try to disconnect the unit from the mains and reconnect 15-20secs later 8 times out of 10 it helps. otherwise you might need to reprogram the unit processor which is more complicated and requires knowledge and understanding of electronic principles, assembler, also some devices to perform the task. Otherwise I'm not sure about exact model of your ECU (computer) but in some cases it also gives the access to reprogrammable radio unit, so in this case laptop, one simple program (u can find it as free downloadable .exe file) and special diagnostics cable wuold sort everything out. But as I said not all ECUs offers such an option. And if you'll go for this step you need some knowledge about electronics and soldering as you'll have to build the cable I mentioned, as tu purchase one would be quite painfull for your vallet.
Hope it helped although if you need any further information just drop a line here.
I had the same problem, and this is how I fixed it. Now it's working fine.
