Whats the best graphics card for my motherboard of mercury p4vm800m7??

This motherboard has built-in AGP8X/AGP 3.0 Display with 64MB shared ram. If you want to install separate graphics card, there is AGPUltra slot available on the motherboard and 3 PCI slots. It is your choice what graphics you use.

My graphic card can not support my msi motherboard p4900m2l

You mean your motherboard won't support your graphics card.

The 'port' is a PCI-Express x16 slot,

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/P4M900M2-L.html#/?div=Basic

Drivers are small pieces of software that allow an Operating System, to 'communicate' with a device.

Windows XP and Windows 7 are two examples of an O/S.
Operating System.

The Nvidia GeForce 8400GS is an example of a device.

Windows operating load the software FIRST.
Then power off, power unplugged, Anti-Static Precautions FOLLOWED, physically install the graphics card.

If not you may get a driver conflict.

Primer:
When a device is installed on a computer with Windows on it, Windows will 'break it's neck' to find suitable drivers.

If THE drivers are not there, Windows will match up one of it's THOUSANDS of generic drivers.

This = No

Then let's say, you come along after physically installing the graphics card, and install the software off of the installation disk.

Windows: "Which drivers do I use? These or THESE?"

Driver conflict

Now,....which scenario do you follow?

1) Have not installed the software yet,
or
2) Have installed the graphics card FIRST, then installed the software.

Post back in a Comment.

Myn mother board is amd i will play games but some games would ask for graphic card but i hesitate to use it is there anyway to play games with out using graphic card

Some games will work fine with the on-board graphics card, but the newer and/or more powerful games require a more powerful graphics card. These will not run unless you install a good graphics card in your machine. Sorry.

My motherboard is mecury P4VM800M7 i need to whether i could attach graphic card for this model? and if yes name those and which is best suited for the mainboard!! and i would also like to knw whether if i...

You can buy a video card and use it on this board. You need to buy a video card with a PCI connection.

If you are planning on buying a new motherboard, I would not go and buy a video card. The newer boards use a PCI Express 2.0 X16 connection and you would be better off buying a newer card to accompany that new motherboard

All your drivers will be in the following locations.

Motherboard drivers:

select your motherboard by the type of processor and download the drivers

nVidia drivers latest:

NOTE: before installing any new drivers, uninstall all the old drivers.
remove all your motherboard drivers and graphics drivers. then first install the motherboard drivers and finally install the graphics drivers.

all will be around 100 to150 MB make sure you use a download accelerator and have enough bandwidth.

If you're still having problems with your graphics card, and not getting any video at all, you could alternatively buy a video card for ~$20 - $50 USD

Hi Thom!

the card you can use is an APG-card! Your MoBo supports 8xAPG so make sure that you DONT buy a Pci-express card, that would not fit on your MoBo
Here is the spec for you MoBo:

Good luck to you M8!
