Your message is in the wrong place; you need to re-post it and enter your car's brand and year first; i.e. "1997 Seat EX" Then look through the listed problems and solutions to see if someone else has experienced the same misery.

Their must be some oil stored somewhere and it is dripping on your exhaust manifold, but never pressure wash your engine, could cause worse problems,in time the smell will go away, just be patient. It will burn off in time.

depends on if you got the extended package and what your dealer offered at the time of purchase, But I would certainly check with the dealer, about that leak, but I doubt the power steering hose problem added to that

Two mechanics, two different answers. We had the struts replaced on our 1997 Chrysler Concorde a couple months ago. A few weeks ago we had the front tie rods replaced and then needed an alingment. The...

well Janet, the tie rods are what attaches the steering to the wheel assembly, so if the wheel is turned, then yes the tie rod ends are supposed to move up and down a little to compensate for the stress of the wheel moving. if they where installed correctly then the componets should not touch nor become close to each other. tpyically these componets only have one installation procedure, and it is hardly likly to install them wrong, unless the installer forgets to put the washers and rubber in the right order. and it is possible that on some vehicles the left and right tie rod ends are installed opposite of each other and this will cause them to contact other parts, and this is bad. it will bent the tie rods and offset the steering. I have been a heavy line mechanic for the past 20 yrs as well and it sounds like the technition at the alignment shop just dident want to mess with your car. in the center there is a connection point that has two bolts and a flat metal plate to attach the inner tie rods to the rack n pinion, and no these should not move any direction except a rotation, meaning circular, not up and down or left and right. and alot of the time I get this car in my shop is when its just plain worn out and they move around verry sloppy, or someome has not tightened them up enough, because they are a pain to get to. hope this helps.

Service code B3 shows on dashboard, what does this mean?

Honda has different service package reminders programmed in the computer. Contact your local dealer or your owners manual. B3 will be an oil change and probably some other fluid checks or changes.

Tire Rods and Wheel Bearings

did you get a sheet of paper that showed you what your alignment was before and after the work was done? because if they didnt do a alignment or didnt do a good job aligning the car then your car can drive very rough. can you tell me what all they did to your car? then maybe i can point out somemore things. any time you replace tie rods you need to get a alignment no ifs or buts about it. hope this helps.

Does it smoke? if so, it is leaking at the head gasket into the combustion chambers.

Valve covers are not too tricky. Buy a set of valve cover gaskets and replace them.
Autozone has a tech section on their website that may be helpful for information.

Squeak when turning, can also be made if vehicle is rocked

Your luckey to have grease zerks on your tierod ends most newer cars don't have any at all. If there any more they would be on the upper and lower ball joints, and maybe the a-frame bushings, but don't be surprised if you don't find any.

Spring loaded tie rods

quck way to test a tie rod is to jack up the vehicle.... grab ahold of the wheel and try to move it side to side.... any play there ... it's likely a tie rod... up and down play is a ball joint

2002 LS shaking, engine light on smell fuels

Brother I have the same car. Go trade it in ASAP! The reason your car is doing this, is because there is oil leaking in the spark plug holes from the valve gasket covers. You will not see any oil on the ground and if you ask a regular tech they will say they do not see a problem either. After spending thousands and reading other forums I narrowed down the problem. When the oil works its way down into the sparkplug holes it causes your car to misfire, idle rough, and sometimes die out. There is no way for the oil to escape so it ends up fouling out the plug and ruining the ignition coil which are $85 a piece and there is 8 of them on the V8 engine and 6 on the V6. Also known problems are noisy clunking in the front end. Ball joints go bad and can only be replaced by purchasing the whole control arm. Take the car to a Lincoln dealer and let them tell you what I just told you. Then get the hell out of there because they will screw you with no vaseline. Take it to someone you trust. Happy New Year! 2009

Tie rods on Volvo C70

Unless you have air tools with and air compressor. Your going to have to pry off those tie rod with a air hammer with a prying fork. It not that expensive. Buy the tie rods yourself so you dont get stiffed and call around for the best deal.
