Question about Philips Televison & Video

3 Answers

I recently got a Philips DVD Recorder/VCR: Model No. DVDR3510V/05; Serial No. 0751 010790. I have recorded a VCR tape and would like to transfer this to a DVD±R disc. Can you tell me how to delete all the advertising etc on the tape from the disc? I am not at all sure it is possible to delete directly from the VCR, but feel this method is probably too inaccurate to be reliable. I cannot find in the User Manual anything more than how to Rename a disc. My thanks for any help/advice. Derek Thompson.

You cannot erase the unwanted contents directly on the vcr tape.instead you can copy to the RE -WRITABLE DISC. format according your need .copy thye contents to system and delete the unwanted .copy on to disc.
YOU CAN LOG ON TO WWW.Philips DVD Recorder/VCRUSER MANUAL.COM.YOUR MANUAL TELLS THAT YOU CANNOT DELETE THE CONTENTS.

You want to transfer movie etc from VHS cassette to DVD Disc. Is this ok then you can pause dvd recording and edit advertisement and then resume recording. This will create another chapter on dvd disc and will not bother in playback.
Need further info please let me know.

After you transfer the data to the DVD, you can use a DVD editing program like the DVD remake found on this link

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvdremake_tutorial.cfm

and you can edit out all of the commercials

let me know if you have further questions with this

I can only speak to getting the tape out. If all else fails, you can take the player to your local best buy and have them remove the tape for a minimal fee of no more than 30$.

I need help converting vhs tapes to dvd+r

If you have both a VCR and DVD recorder there is no problem. Just connect the A/V output from the VCR to the A/V input of the DVD recorder. Start the tape and press record on the DVD recorder. (these connection are RCA type ans coloured white, red, abd yellow. Just connecxt them colour to colour. Couldn't be simpler. When the recording finishes, transfer to an optical disk. After finalizing, the VOB files from the optical disk can be converted to mpeg4 or any other format you desire using your PC.

Connect a dvd-vcr recorder to my tb

you will need an external dvd recorder to record vcr tapes to dvd. Sometimes you will have problems with quality when you do it this way. I have transfered vcr tapes to dvd with a transfer device using the computer and got much better results. If you need the name of the transfer device just get back with me and I will get it for you.

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

I've purchased a philips dvd videoplayer, dvp3350v/05, with the aim of being able to copy from video to dvd...having read the manual though, it reads like the only copying it will do is from dvd to...

The DVP3350V/05 is a DVD player / Video recorder combi, so will only play DVDs, not record on to them.

You will need a Philips DVDR3510V or DVDR3512V, to record from VHS to DVD.

www.cheapestelectrical.co.uk should have them in stock, if not contact them for availability.

Also, most pre-recorded VHS tapes are copy protected, so you may experience picture rolling and colour fading in & out on any copies you make.
Any VHS tapes you have recorded yourself will not have this copy protection, and will copy ok.

Is there a way

Not really, these VCR tapes that are copyrighted from the store are highly secured. So you can not dub them actually.
