SOURCE: changing a room thermostat a potterton to honeywell t6360

I think I've done it - but don't take this as absolute truth.
For the Honeywell T6360B the original Potterton wiring should be rewired as follows:
Brown [Live] goes to terminal 1; Blue [neutral] goes to Terminal 2 and the yellow/green [which is not an earth but a switched live - i.e. gives live to the heating system when the thermostat clicks in] goes to terminal 3.
Obviously all done with the power isolated and when it was switched back on we had heating again :o)
It's been on over two hours now and all seems fine.

SOURCE: program manual for honeywell thermostat model T8700C1005(1)

try holding the up and down arrow, down, at the same time, see if the time or temperature starts flashing. also the cover should lift up so you can change from heat to cool, there should be a program button or a set button to hold down. all you should have to do is adjust the time and temperature for the 4 settings during the week and the two on the weekend. should be really easy, let me know if you need some more help

SOURCE: I had an old thermostat that i had to change need wiring diagram

both thermostatats will have terminal designators R,W,Y,G, possibly O/B, C, W1,W2, Y1, Y2, etc.
Simplest method is to remove wires from old stat one at a time. mark where they came from and then install at same desinated terminal on the new t-stat. Hope this helps. be sure to shut off power supply to the unit (furnace) first. The wire coming to the R (RH,RC) terminal is the 24 volt a/c hot, all others are feeding back to perform given function.

I don't know if this will be helpful or not, but I just installed a new Honeywell and the Honeywell customer service guy helped me get the wires done correctly. The number is 800-468-1502.

SOURCE: i have a pro th4000 series honeywell programmable

this thermostat does not have a deadband option, the only other thing you can do is set the program for a different temp. the cycles per hour just restrict how many times the unit comes on.

The thermostat works fine for heat, but as soon as I switch it to cool, the air conditioning will kick is but the inside thermostat will not change, causing the air conditioner to run continuously

If the temperature doesn't drop when the air conditioning is running for some time (two hours), the air conditioner is not working. The problem is not in the thermostat.

Sounds like you also have a high efficiency furnace like mine.
Here is a procedure to slow down the number of cycles you are experiencing.
1. press System
2. press and hold buttons 3 and 5 on the bottom of the screen. (there should be 7 buttons displayed)
3. set code to 240
4. change setting to 3 for 3 cycles per hour. (your thermostat probably shows a higher number, probably 5? That is why your unit is cycling so often).

Honeywell T8011r does not have anything on display - does not appear circuit breaker is thrown - could it be wire disconnected at the plate or is there a fuse inside the unit?

Check to see if you have power at the furnace. You thermostat is powered by 24vac coming from the furnace. You should have power on the "R" terminal.

Th8000 does not match another thermometer inside home

Is the thermostat mounted near a lamp or other heat source?
Is the wall warm from ducts in the wall or a refrigerator on the other side?
The thermostats are usually pretty accurate. Most times I find some other influence on the thermostat causes the problem.
The Honeywell 8000 series also has a feature accessed through the installer setup menu, that will allow the temp display to be changed + or - 8 or 9 degrees.
Check the manual or Honeywell's website for a .pdf if you need it.
Hope this helps.
